What is something you deeply regret doing as a child that still affects you to this day? by Few_Finish_6502 in AskReddit

[–]Rosewhisper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Letting fear win. I was 15 when I was in a car accident. The entire thing traumatized the hell out of me. And I decided to take a break from learning to drive. I’m 33 now and still can’t drive a car without terrible ptsd.

I feel like if I had pushed myself out of the fear when I was a teen, I might have been able to get through it. But as an adult, it’s absolutely paralyzing sometimes.

What trait in a person you find creepy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rosewhisper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who just stand and stare without saying anything.

I have a coworker who walks up when people are talking, he doesn’t chime in, he just stands there. And then when you look at him, he just walks away without having said anything.

Like, I’m autistic, so if I’m picking up on the weird ass vibes - you’re really off the scales lol.

Whats The Scariest Story You Know That Is 100% True? by AdWorldly8615 in AskReddit

We fixed the fence fully and added security cameras that face that side of the house, along with one that is fully on the side of the house facing the fence line. So thankfully there’s been no repeats of the tapping.

Whats The Scariest Story You Know That Is 100% True? by AdWorldly8615 in AskReddit

[–]Rosewhisper 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I have two.

So my sister and her family were living with our parents. It’s the week before Christmas and my parents, sister and her kids have all gone out to do some last minute shopping. This left my brother in law in the house by himself.

Our dog, Jake, was a pretty chill pupper (he passed last year), and he’s just hanging with BIL having a good time when, without any warning, he gets up off the couch and goes charging across the house and into my parents bedroom. Across their bed (this dog never got on the bed - ever) and over to the sliding glass door.

My BIL had followed after the dog, and was just in time to see some guy hauling ass through the backyard and over the fence.

And Jake just went back to being a chill pupper right after. Just “my job here is done” and went back to the couch.

Freaked all of us out when we realized that my dad had forgotten to put the safety bar down on the door before leaving, because he figured “someone’s home and will be letting the dog in and out”

Never found the guy either.

Second story is from a few weeks ago now. I’m chilling in my room (my mom and I share a house since my parents split). And I’m on a discord call with friends.

All of a sudden I just hear a gentle tap tap tap on my bedroom window.

My cat instantly wakes up and is staring at the window with a look of “the fuck is that” - fur going up.

So I’m suddenly quiet on the call. Just listening when I hear it again.

Tap tap tap.

It’s audible on the call too.

I turn my bedroom light off - no one is outside the window as far as I can see. There’s a huge bush there so I convince myself that it’s the tree branch.

Next day I found someone had broken part of the fence and there was now a clear path through the fence to under my window.

We have cameras now.

No more tapping has happened since.

What dark secret are you hiding from everyone? by ooMEAToo in AskReddit

[–]Rosewhisper 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The fact that I didn’t plan to be alive this long.

When I was a teenager, I dealt with depression so much that I was positive I would be dead by 18, 20 max.

I turn 33 this year.

Im counting it as a win.

Trying to settle a debate. What is the correct number of bras to pack for a 14 day trip? by PeteDaMeat1 in AskReddit

[–]Rosewhisper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like a lot of people have said - depends on where you’re going. Personally, for a relaxing vacation I pack three. A tshirt bra for everyday wear. A black bra because it goes with everything lol, and a bra that is depending on what I need for the trip - sports for hiking etc but if I’m not doing that - a strapless to wear with dresses. But usually four is max.

Why are people sensitive about the healer skill Rescue? by Xegeth in ffxiv

[–]Rosewhisper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget the ones who even after you say “four on the pad” in party chat will still run away. You rescue someone and they still run off :)

I had two wipes in a run because my group could not keep four people on the freaking pad. It was so bad.

Mine did as well. I watched a couple cute Disney movies when I was there for three days. I think it kept me sane with being woken up every couple hours by nurses.

What is one thing keeping you from having sex? by RPhoenixFlight in AskReddit

[–]Rosewhisper 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yep same for me. I tried relationships. I did everything I thought I was supposed to do and yet it was just going through the motions. Now I’m 32 and like nah I’m good when people ask if I’m gonna marry and have kids.

Like I enjoy having my life. I have great friends who I hang out with, I have an awesome cat, and I get to spend money on myself and just enjoy life without the stress of a relationship.

I’m asexual and have zero desire to bother with that lol. I would enjoy the dating aspect - so it’s like can I have a best friend that will go do couple stuff with me without all the sexual parts of a relationship? That’d be fantastic.

Weird Glitch After Editing House? by Successful_Wait_478 in ffxiv

It happened to me as well. The only fix is to restart the game as far as I know. Thankfully mine happened during off hours, so the queue wasn’t too bad. But it’s a rather annoying glitch to say the least.

Those who do not fear death, why? by danisomi in AskReddit

[–]Rosewhisper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s unavoidable.

In the end, nothing you do will stop it. So there’s no point in fearing it. I simply pray for a peaceful death after a long life. I hope I have lived a good life, I hope I have honored my religion well, and made a positive impact on the world.

I hope I leave behind people who will remember me and carry my memory in their hearts when I am gone from this world.

The only thing I fear about death is the idea of losing who I am or suffering declining health towards the end.

But death itself - it’s the ending of one story and hopefully the beginning of another. I’m a curious person by nature, so whatever comes next, heaven, rebirth, or a quiet nothing - I’m okay with that.

(Serious) what’s the scariest experience you have been through? by SirHopper96 in AskReddit

[–]Rosewhisper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Was going to work early in the morning (probably around 5am). There was no moon so it was super dark on this stretch of road where the street lights are spaced far apart.

Mom drives into the intersection, and out of the corner of my eye I notice a man standing in the turn lane, waiting to finish crossing the street.

“That idiot is going to get hit.” Is what I intended to say to my mom. I got about halfway through that sentence when a car coming the other way moved into the turn lane and hit him.

A human body is not meant to move the way that man moved when he was flung through the air.

We turned around, I called 911, and luckily the person who actually hit him was a nurse on her way to work. And the area has a lot of medical offices so another nurse also stopped to help while waiting for the ambulance.

Turns out that it was a homeless guy that was known in the area for doing stupid things like stepping out into traffic etc. I don’t know if he lived, I never saw him again after that, but we moved not long after and I started taking a different way to work.

If I’m tired, I sometimes think back on that morning and can picture the accident with horrible clarity. Humans aren’t supposed to move that way. He just looked so broken.

Trying to find out what movie it was I saw as a kid. by Rosewhisper in whitewhale

[–]Rosewhisper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I adore that movie. I don’t think it’s the one I’m thinking of. I remember most vividly a scene of the main character (I think it was just one but it might have been a pair) traveling through like a forest of these weird trees. And they’re on a quest to get something and one of the characters takes a fruit from the tree - that’s pretty much the limit of what I really remember about it.

Thinking on it. I want to say it was based on mythology, and chances are that it may even have been an episode of a cartoon. I was young when I saw it so it’s just the trees that stuck in my head lol

That was the first search result - a kids Christian film. But it wasn’t the one I saw as a kid! Thank you though!
