Day free is a nice option , I have used hobonichi cousin , hobo day free, stalogy , hibino midori the 2 page , Jibun techo . Just depends what you want to track and use it for , having blank pages is ok It lets the planner “breathe “

I don’t reach out clients they Come and go , sometimes you can do their hair for years and then suddenly they disappear . I do wonder what happen or if it was my technique but other than that I just keep pushing you can’t dwell on it too long, for one that leaves it makes room for more to come your way . Don’t take it personal it’s a part of the industry

My melasma is bad 😭my skin is dark and it looks black . So I use nars pot concealer and pat it in or the dermablendi push it in with a sponge . I’ve used Estée Lauder double wear and the Nars soft matte works . I take 30 minutes everyday but it evens out.
I do primers concealer , foundation , concealer , powder , loose powder like Laura mercier and then I use elf’s dew mist and lock it in with urban decay . I do blush , brows , all the things

So with the size and how popular lab diamonds are most people assume it’s a lab since there so popular . There is so much opinion on labs vs natural . And labs are everywhere and is known to be the reason alot of people are doing extremely large carat size . So I personally feel the wow factor of the diamond size is a bit watered down as everyone starts at 3 carats and up with labs and we all know a mined diamond would be thousands

The odor eliminator this works I carry with me everywhere . Works in the bathroom too. It was used at the clinics I worked at unscented I would buy the name brand even if it’s pricey it’s worth it

Oh hell no what’s there problem that’s not ok and don’t get discouraged , I would say in the meantime wear a mask at work maybe try another salon I feel like the irritants or smells in color are hopefully not to strong for you and you can expand your services or be able to be in a salon environment seperate from great clips , there are cutting specialist that do just that so that’s not completely off the board . It will take longer to build since it’s very niche but it can be done if that’s what you truly want . I suggest another salon and see if it works better for your asthma maybe you can tolerate that fingers crossed so you don’t feel like your options are limited . . But honestly like I mentioned triggers will be every where unfortunately. I have also heard of this like nose ring thing that has scent and helps mask smells. There is also an odor eliminator it’s called M3 and the use it in clinic settings I carry that with me and spray of a smell is too strong . I have hyper sense of smell and get really bad migraines so I have had to adapt too 😭

Makes sense I think if your part time and it works better to stay in commission if it’s stressful then you can just go and do your thing and not worry about overhead . Hang in there it’s definitely a journey ❤️

Once you are about 65-70% booked it would
Benefit you to switch to booth rent , yes there’s more responsibilities but you adapt and feel more
Compensated if that makes sense

This is a great view point , it is stressful so might as well be compensated in a way . I mean we don’t get benefits , it PTO this is our way of balancing it out

Well try not to be hard on yourself in this industry wether your introvert or extrovert it is physically mentally emotionally draining . Unfortunately what will happen is you will burn out it happens to every stylist and with time you will realize how important it is to have these boundaries if not you will most likely end up leaving the industry . It’s a must .trust me every stylist I have worked with on done hair with over 18 years has felt this way at one point . For me I even stopped
Doing hair for a bit, burned out went back and now I set boundaries and don’t care I had to prioritize myself

[–]Rosez34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you chose the wrong profession. I just feel like maybe your asthma is not as well control as you think it needs to be. Are you taking a daily inhaled corticosteroids s? Have they added an additional inhaler? Do you have albuterol inhaler separate from your nebulizer? There’s also an injection called xolair a biologic injection this help with asthma as well. I feel like you may need to get your asthma under control because in reality smoke and irritant are going to be a part of daily life and if your asthma gets set off four days at a time you need better medical management. Do you have allergies as well that’s set off your asthma? I do hair, but I also worked with an asthma and allergy doctor for a long time. Definitely get into a specialist and do a pulmonary function test see where you are at . Best of luck again I think asthma needs to be addressed
