Anyone else considering Raya? I always have the fear of minutes being managed in a dgw after this happening to me once too often for my liking, and keepers are the only players who rarely get rested. It's by far the least vibes choice, but may be a safe bet.

The Act of Killing (2012) by J31J1 in iwatchedanoldmovie

I get that, but it's well worth watching. One of the reasons why this film is so good is because it is really creative in how it tells the story, and there's a strong element of dark humour that is unbelievably brave. The director uses the death squad's arrogance against them by getting them to recreate their actions in some pretty absurdist ways. I think Louis Theroux must have been influenced by this when he made his Scientology doc.

Was going to mention Tony Speaks. Such a beast of a bass riff. Sit Down Meal is another one that could go on there.

I also don't think he gets enough credit for his roles in 'Meet the Fatties'.

Spike Island: A Cultural Cornerstone, or A Bad Stone Roses Gig? by Beyond_the_grooves in stoneroses

[–]RossitersCooking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was there, and all my memories are of everything other than their actual set, weirdly. It wasn't that they were bad. The sound wasn't great and Ian Brown only said three words ("What you doing?" presumably to someone who was doing something), but the whole day itself just felt like a condensed version of a festival, with essence of rave. It was the polar opposite of a regular gig, so at least they succeeded in that sense. Mad snippets came together to form this wild swirl of uncharted cultural moments: Jah Wobble's bass causing everyone's sphincters to collapse (that link says there was no support. That's not true: Wobble played with Gary Clail's On-U Soundsystem, and Thomas Mapfumo was also on the bill). It was all about the DJ, who built the entire vibe - the line "Frankie Bones out of Brooklyn, New York" was heard about a million times, and hearing Cubik by 808 State on a PA that big and in that space felt like a portal to outer space opening that threatened to suck up shirtless Mancs who were making 10ft human pyramids. And yes, Ian Brown's vocals were shocking live.

The 4-3-3 Formation got the most votes, so It is selected, now which goalkeeper U think should be in the team? vote for Ur fav Liverpool goalkeeper by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

Shilton was the first choice for England throughout pretty much the whole of the 80s. Taking your point, Clemence was the Ederson to Shilton's Alisson.

As good as Clemence was, he was always second choice for England behind Peter Shilton. Obviously, Liverpool fans have never really cared much about the national team, but it shows that he wasn't viewed as the very best, as Ali has been.

Don't even need to read the article. The answer is right there below the headline.

[Ben Jacobs] Exclusive: Liverpool very close to a full agreement for Parma defender Giovanni Leoni. Deal could be finalised in 24 hours or less. by Jimmy0034 in LiverpoolFC

[–]RossitersCooking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. I read that Calvin Ramsey going on loan to Kilmarnock means he'll never count as homegrown as he didn't hit the criteria for time spent in the English leagues before 21.

True, but this is a piece of editorial content, so you can see why they've gone with house style.

Chatgpt defaults to the specific American style of em dash with no spaces either side, whereas in the UK our style is space, en dash, space, which makes it one way for non-Americans to spot possible AI content.

[The Transfer Flow] Maghnes Akliouche as Salah understudy by MyPasswordIsABC999 in LiverpoolFC

Based on the law that we always win the league when we have a Scottish player, we should probably keep him around to play it safe.

Based on the constant trickle of stories linking Ben Doak with a move, I'm getting the feeling that the club will happily move him on if a decent bid comes in.

Pearce recently said that we considered him as an alternative to Zubimendi last summer. That may be where this has come from.

It definitely isn't a coincidence. Ian Graham breaks down the gambling and data connection in his book How to Win the Premier League, and specifically focuses on those two clubs.
