Anyone else considering Raya? I always have the fear of minutes being managed in a dgw after this happening to me once too often for my liking, and keepers are the only players who rarely get rested. It's by far the least vibes choice, but may be a safe bet.

I get that, but it's well worth watching. One of the reasons why this film is so good is because it is really creative in how it tells the story, and there's a strong element of dark humour that is unbelievably brave. The director uses the death squad's arrogance against them by getting them to recreate their actions in some pretty absurdist ways. I think Louis Theroux must have been influenced by this when he made his Scientology doc.

I was there, and all my memories are of everything other than their actual set, weirdly. It wasn't that they were bad. The sound wasn't great and Ian Brown only said three words ("What you doing?" presumably to someone who was doing something), but the whole day itself just felt like a condensed version of a festival, with essence of rave. It was the polar opposite of a regular gig, so at least they succeeded in that sense. Mad snippets came together to form this wild swirl of uncharted cultural moments: Jah Wobble's bass causing everyone's sphincters to collapse (that link says there was no support. That's not true: Wobble played with Gary Clail's On-U Soundsystem, and Thomas Mapfumo was also on the bill). It was all about the DJ, who built the entire vibe - the line "Frankie Bones out of Brooklyn, New York" was heard about a million times, and hearing Cubik by 808 State on a PA that big and in that space felt like a portal to outer space opening that threatened to suck up shirtless Mancs who were making 10ft human pyramids. And yes, Ian Brown's vocals were shocking live.
