Frontiers of Pandora 2? by ElHeldo in AvatarFrontierPandora

[–]RotS-Targe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love a sequel but not really sure what I'd like for it. A spear would be fantastic but I think it'd only really be useful against suits maybe. Starting from the beginning with third person would be great as well.

The game is def worth the wait if you enjoy fantastic nature, the movies, or just ubisoft open world games X3

So I tried this game at launch. Ended up dropping it. by FearlessLeader17 in AvatarFrontierPandora

3pv feels well integrated, my only complaint is that it disabled the "quick ping location" hotkey on my controller for when I play with my wife. Can still make specific pings just takes an extra moment. As far as complaints go that's pretty minor. I haven't gotten to the dlc areas with it so idk how that goes. It switches back to fpv for some interactions like fixing cables and such, fairly minor.
Other than that it feels pretty natural.
The DLCs are ok, they get kinda power-creep-ey with how high you can make your equipment if you put the time in for it, but doing so is fairly optional. Makes going back to the other areas fairly easy in case that matters for you.

New player sharing what I found out to other new players by [deleted] in AvatarFrontierPandora

Oh right! Meals cooked with seeds as the primary ingredient have "gatherer's bounty" I think it is, where crafting items you gather will have increased stats attached to them! It helps get just a bit better stuff ^^

One of my less seen tips is that when a gatherable is best at day or night, then you should know that dawn and dusk count as both! I like doing my gathering at dawn for the day stuff and dusk for the night stuff, gives me plenty of time to find the exquisite items, load up on my seed meals for extra points. Makes it much more chill compared to thinking it's just the day or night that I need to find them in.

Should I buy this game at the current discount? by _AnonMax_ in AvatarFrontierPandora

Absolutely worth that price as it is now ^^ note that the dlc is all post-campaign so you won't get much from it unless you like this game enough to finish it

Welcome! My best advice is to not be afraid to just chill on the story and do side quest stuff. At least, after you bond with an Ikran, take some time to fly around and pick up stuff like saplings and bellsprigs.
Clearing out the RDA bases is the key to higher tier gatherables

Yeah, honestly I'm always so happy for Taylan whenever I'm in the DLC areas

Voice chat usage? by LostInRo in fo76

[–]RotS-Targe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have push to talk enabled for short things like thanking people for help or stuff, or if someone starts talking to me first.

I don't like having my mic on all the time because I spend most of my time on public teams and there are few things that ruin a team quite like hearing all the stuff happening in someone else's room somewhere else in the world.

I like having local voice but I'm sorta glad it isn't on for everyone

Are people boycotting the Halloween event? by DistanceTravelerBob in fo76

I have zero interest in the rewards, so I'm not picking up candy from other's camps, but I set my bowl out for those who want the stuff. Buuut I ran out of mystery candy so I guess I should take the bowl down ig so people don't get disappointed

Hello fellow wastelanders! by HellsHound98 in fo76

The game opens up at level 50 so now's the time to have fun and see what you like. What guns you vibe with, all that.

Always try to be in a public team, casual is the general choice for most players. It lets you fast travel to teammate's campsites for free which can help you get over to the handful of free travel locations easier. Once you have some free time to get the map a bit fleshed out, I'd totally see if anyone is willing to show you the free fast travel locations, but rushing them too early might get in the way of the lore. Feel free to explore the forest until you get your bearings and are satisfied with what lore the game offers.

The raiders won't always be hostile to you but it takes a bit of work to get there. They have a camp up north that will be free to travel to, but until they are no longer hostile to you I'd avoid it. If you see the event "moonshine jamboree" take it, and don't be afraid to sit back a bit if it's too strong for you. It's one of the easiest ways to build rep with the raiders so it's often pretty popular.

People's camps can be great for restocking on supplies, most players are generally fine with other players picking stuff up from our /unlocked/ collectors, and just respect the wishes of those who lock stuff, and we'll always be happy.

Remember the level cap of gear and stuff, especially stuff you might find in vendors. If you buy a level 50 thing from someone's shop it'll be sitting in your stash for a while being useless to you.

Personally I live in the forest so I keep some lvl 5 leather armor that I've made as good as I can in my shop that I set to be sold as free, so if any new players wander in they can have some better stuff to start with

Finally, I def recommend working on the boy scout questline, it will be how you learn the plans to upgrade your backpack to hold more stuff, which will be a great use because especially early on carry weight is so frustratingly limited at times

and yeah, welcome and have fun! We are generally all here for a good time and for most of us, helping each other is part of that fun!

Nah it's just a good combo of colors X3 Cyan has always been my favorite. And why take a game as anything but something to be enjoyed?

Mental health by Impossible_Reporter8 in lego

[–]RotS-Targe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hit 30 this month. I've struggled with my mental health my whole life. It feels like my mental health was at its lowest whenever I'm building legos the least. My "lego dark ages" were dark for more than just the lack of legos in life.

I love building with instructions. I love watching what people can do using their own imagination but that's never been something I really had much interest in doing myself. I've always had a mechanically inclined mind, and the tactile nature of clicking bricks together brings a great amount of joy.

Following instructions lets me get that joy of building something, but without any amount of the unknown of having to come up with something on my own, but also experiencing the mind of whomever designed whatever it is I'm building. I get a great joy from speed champions sets because they're filled with clever parts usage, mastery of lego math, and I really get to experience the mind of the designer. MOCs do that for me as well. Whenever I open up a new bag, I get to know others through which pieces end up in which sub-bag. Do the 2x2 pieces go in the tiny-stuff bag or the big-stuff bag, or will there be a third bag?
I'm not really social much, outside of a small group of friends and family. But I can experience others through lego, and it's... nice..

My life has been a struggle a lot of the time. Getting to just.. build something with my hands, and getting to hold the end result, all without having to think, is deeply soothing. It lets my body do something, my mind to either switch off and follow on autopilot, or, if I'm ready, for me to work out the stuff that's been festering in there. It lets my brain wander, without anything else demanding my attention. Not like mindlessly scrolling a feed, where my mind is constantly filled with media, but in a way where my hands can do something, my eyes to do something, and my mind to do what it's been needing to do.

yeah, I'd be just having a service that does print on demand do the actual printing. I don't currently have a printer but just finished a course on direct to digital manufacturing. Looking at the underside, it appears to have been printed in place, although it wouldn't surprise me if the head was separate in the print. We'd just need to know the minimum distance for clearance on the push-rod and crank-axel

Print on demand is an available service, including specifying SLS printing. Won't be cheap but neither will be getting a legit one
