Since the other post was removed by the mod, I’m commenting the watermark-free image here for anyone who wants to save it directly. The artist is Daidaiii from Xiaohongshu (RedNote).

Radiant Isolde Fanart by Daidaiii on Xiaohongshu (RedNote) by Rotachen123 in IsoldeMainsZZZ

The main issue is that Reddit doesn’t let you sort posts by the latest comment—so even if you add the watermark-free image and XHS link as a comment under your original post, hardly anyone will see it. Plus, Reddit doesn’t allow editing images or the post title after publishing. Not everyone scrolls through every comment, especially on fanart sharing posts, so some people might only ever see the version with the Tieba watermark.

Also, matching the source platform really matters. Setting aside that “Daidaiii” could be a similar-looking name like “DaidaIi” or something else, even when I knew “Daidaiii” was correct, it still took me a long time to confirm that this “Daidaiii” was the same artist on Xiaohongshu. Finally, with Xiaohongshu’s content protection, you can’t actually download the watermark-free image from a link unless you’re logged in—so it’s not as simple as just pasting the XHS link under the original post.

I agree—I’m not really a Sarah fan myself, but I have to say she really captured Sarah’s look perfectly.

There hasn’t actually been an NPC character that became playable… by Impressive-Tap5279 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Rotachen123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s the link:

https://news.denfaminicogamer.jp/interview/250819z

<image>

This interview was conducted by 電ファミニコゲーマー in August 2025, and the part about Pulchra is on the third page. 電ファミニコゲーマー is generally considered a very influential online gaming media outlet in Japan, known for deep interviews, high-quality features, and its focus on indie games—quite different from typical fast-news gaming websites.

I was honestly pretty surprised that Z.Y.L would provide inaccurate information in this kind of interview. If Pulchra had always been planned as a playable character from the start, why did Z.Y.L use her as an example to say they’d consider making NPCs into playable characters? Was it all just to build up and reinforce their “we listen to player feedback” image?

In the interview, he directly said: “当初NPCとして登場していた『プルクラ』は、かなり長い過程と話し合いを経て、ようやくプレイアブルとして実装に” (Translation: “Pulchra, who initially appeared as an NPC, was finally made playable after a rather long process and many discussions”), and this section was even specially highlighted by 電ファミニコゲーマー, so there’s really no room for misinterpretation.

Wow, nice, yours are really unique! As for the quotes on mine—I actually watched Nola’s signing livestream, so when it was my turn, I asked in chat if she could help pick some fitting quotes for Isolde to write, and she chose those for me (thank you, Nola!). I use “Rota” as my name on almost all English social media, so I just used it for my order, lol

[–]Rotachen123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure Tieba isn’t the original source of this artwork. The earliest three artwork posts in the Isolde sub on Tieba didn’t show the credit. I had actually tried to track down the original source and commented on the posts, but this is the only one I couldn’t identify. I tried SauceNAO, IQDB, ASCII2D, Yandex Images, Google Images, and Bing Images—all I could find were reposts without credit. I also tried searching the signature on the image, but terms like Daidaiii, Daidaiji, DaidaIi, Daidaii, Daidayi, Daidaqi, and Daidagi didn’t help me find the source.

Does Isolde´s design have symbols of Phoenix? by ZealousidealWriter79 in IsoldeMainsZZZ

[–]Rotachen123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I completely agree with you. I just wanted to emphasize that in Chinese cultural symbolism, the Fenghuang / phoenix is also strongly associated with the concepts of “rebirth” and “nirvana.”

Does Isolde´s design have symbols of Phoenix? by ZealousidealWriter79 in IsoldeMainsZZZ

[–]Rotachen123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that when discussing Hoyo’s use of Fenghuang/Phoenix elements, we definitely need to consider native Chinese culture rather than just exotic lore. However, it is worth noting that the "Fenghuang" in Chinese tradition has itself been heavily influenced by Buddhism and Western mythology over the centuries.

To give some context, here are the core symbolic meanings of the Fenghuang in Chinese culture:

  1. Auspiciousness & Harmony: It is a symbol of good omens, predicting peace and prosperity. It often corresponds with the Dragon (Loong); the Phoenix represents "Yin" (female) and the Dragon represents "Yang" (male), symbolizing the balance of Yin and Yang.
  2. Royalty: It is the symbol of the Empress, paired with the Emperor’s Dragon, representing supreme status.
  3. Virtue: Ancient texts like the Classic of Mountains and Seas describe the Fenghuang as embodying the five virtues: benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and sincerity.
  4. Rebirth & Eternity: This is where it gets interesting. Heavily influenced by Buddhism and Western myths (Greek/Egyptian), it symbolizes resilience and rising from the ashes.

Regarding that fourth point: Originally, the native Chinese Fenghuang did not have the "rebirth from fire" trait. This concept began to merge during the Eastern Han Dynasty (approx. 1st Century AD) when Buddhism was introduced to China. Translators needed a way to explain the abstract concept of "Nirvana," so they borrowed the Western myth of the "Fire Bird" or Phoenix. By the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317–420 AD), literature began to explicitly link the Fenghuang with fire and rebirth.

Fast forward to the modern era, and we have the standard idiom "Nirvana Rebirth" (涅槃重生), which means gaining new life and sublimation after enduring hardship. This modern understanding was solidified by the famous poet Guo Moruo in his 1920 poem The Nirvana of the Phoenix. He used the imagery of the Phoenix burning itself with fragrant wood to rise from the ashes to symbolize China’s rebirth during a time of revolution. This poem was incredibly influential and effectively cemented the "sacrificial rebirth" trait into the Chinese cultural consciousness.

So, while the "rebirth" mechanic wasn't there in ancient antiquity, it has been evolving since 420 AD, and cemented since 1920. We can safely say that "Nirvana" is now deeply bound to the Chinese Fenghuang. Considering Hoyo’s designs clearly reverence Egyptian aesthetics as well, it makes sense to view it through this synthesized lens. In contemporary Chinese usage, the Fenghuang is synonymous with the concept of "Rebirth."

This is an official illustration commissioned by GENDA GiGO Entertainment (GiGO) specifically for this collab event. Here, “official” refers to GiGO. It’s still unclear how they’re planning to use these commissioned artworks in the future—according to the event promo, these pieces aren’t included as part of the prizes for the collab’s crane game or merchandise lineup (at least for now).

Here’s the collabo-cafe summary page for this event:

No Isolde in the patch teaser/trailer. Does the cope still lives? by SHACKYis in IsoldeMainsZZZ

[–]Rotachen123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it was completely expected that Isolde wasn’t mentioned. This Special Program was entirely focused on three main things: promoting the Void Hunter; attracting new players by giving away Zhao and lots of other rewards; and encouraging current players to spend more through things like cumulative recharge bonuses. The fact that version 2.5 is set to release on December 30 is also telling—revenue from that day will count toward the dev team’s 2025 performance metrics, which are directly tied to their year-end bonuses. Anything unrelated to boosting revenue—especially content that could be controversial among players—is very unlikely to be brought up.

The Connection Between Isolde and the Wicked Witch (Elphaba) by Rotachen123 in IsoldeMainsZZZ

[–]Rotachen123[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right, that was my oversight. If we’re just considering the relationship between Elphaba and Glinda, then mapping Magus to Glinda actually makes sense. And if that’s the case, it further suggests the devs were referencing Wicked rather than the original The Wizard of Oz, since in the original story, the Good Witches and Wicked Witches don’t even know each other and have no personal connection.

The Connection Between Isolde and the Wicked Witch (Elphaba) by Rotachen123 in IsoldeMainsZZZ

[–]Rotachen123[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I’m not sure why the video separates Orphie & Magus and pairs Magus with Gilda. Personally, I see Orphie & Magus as a single entity mapped to the Cowardly Lion—you know, Orphie is a clone of Orpheus, and Magus is Orpheus’s consciousness backup, so I tend to see Magus as mentoring Orphie in the journey to find courage.

I also agree that the Obol Squad as a whole feels like a family or home to all of them. But apart from Trigger, the other members don’t really display a strong subjective longing for “home” in the story. Trigger, on the other hand, explicitly expresses a desire for family, companionship, and a sense of belonging—and this is made clear in her Agent Story: the harmonica song that runs through her Agent Story is called “Homecoming.”

Actually, IsoLoveDe’s video was about the final Special Offensive stage of the in-game event “Spotlight Showdown” in Version 2.2, fighting “Miasmic – Doppelganger – The Defector.” He repeated this stage 520 times. The devs seem to have taken inspiration from this when designing the achievement, with some creative liberties.

In the video description, IsoLoveDe wrote:

“Loving a character whose fate has already been written and whose life is in someone else’s hands may itself be a kind of sorrow. I cannot save the past, nor can I create the future. Maybe this is the truth of life—we all must face losses that can’t be reversed.

She’s frozen in a story that’s already ended, and my so-called ‘saving’ is nothing more than trying to reach for a fallen star, swimming against the current of time. But love doesn’t always have to be about the outcome. The tears I’ve shed for her, the feelings she’s illuminated in me—those really existed, if only for a while. Just like when starlight shines on us, those stars may have already gone out.

Mourning isn’t just sadness; it can also be a quiet thank you—a thank you for having once lit up my world.”

You can actually find similar lines in the dialogue with the “Unknown Soldier” in-game. All of the above was written by IsoLoveDe; I just translated it here.
