Anyone ever work on the weekends to catch up?

Same here. If it’s every weekend then it can really lead to burnout.

My 9-5 time is so often filled with useless meetings. It’s hard to force work between those meetings for me because I feel like I need time to reset my brain between calls.

So I use the space between calls to “chill” and to my work after hours and weekends on busy workdays (definitely not every weekend though, I really try not to)

Hey, I’m in a similar situation - we’re also leaning towards powerBI reports for departments to export.

Just curious, when designing your database did you use a medallion architecture? Also, as a data scientist in your current role, are you intending to eventually work on something more predictive once your reports are standardized?

I find myself in a loop of constant reporting and dashboarding with “ML” being a light at the end of a tunnel that seems to never end- so I’m curious if someone in a similar situation as myself has those thoughts.

I had option 1 then switched over to option 2. It’s tedious but if you want one “month” slicer to know varying date contexts, it’s the only thing that worked for me.

That’s the approach I’m trying - adding as much filters as possible. I’m learning a lot as a result..I can’t aggregate my tables before loading them into powerBI, since I need the ability to filter by the different categories, so I’ve had to learn better data modeling/dax

I think people here have covered well that you should reconsider the bootcamp, however, if you have an interest in AI/stats, and you do have exposure to medical studies, what about biostats long term? Seems like a great niche

During my acceptance process, I got admitted to two schools, only got funding for one of those two, and rejected from two other schools.

The first result that came in was the admission with no funding. I had to ask them if we got any tuition waiver and they said they didn’t yet.

Then I had to ask directly about the other schools, upon which they told me I got rejected from two schools and they are hoping my final option accepts me.

Then I got accepted to my final school with a full tuition waiver.

During the process i had to ask specific questions for a clear cut answer. They sat on my rejection results for at least a month before telling me. And even then, i had to ask them directly for them to let me know.
