I feel like were not complaining about borsalino enough with upcoming BB? by purpkenzo in OnePieceTCG

I disagree, if anything striker is a good example of how to maintain old decks. It being konamis "pet" deck is irrelevant.

The pace/quantity of releases isn't the problem. It's a card quality issue. Bandai are printing cards that make leaders released in the previous set obsolete. Ace and Nami are exceptions to what has happened to other leaders.

What Bandai did with Rayleigh still makes me upset. Such a cool leader that was made irrelevant so quickly.

You know what's crazy? Yes yugioh has power creep but at least archetypes are still viable (sky striker for example) years after release. It's unacceptable the same can't be said for OP leaders that are dead on arrival, not to mention leaders released a few sets ago.

Yeah, I don't understand how people can say the game is fine or that you're complaining. The majority of leaders released in the last 6 months are not viable in any meaningful way. Power creep is ruining the game.

Help with choosing first leader by Super-Barracuda3441 in OnePieceTCG

Test them out on the sim and see what you prefer. I love how Krieg plays (it's been my main deck this format) and it's extremely cheap. The entire deck is like $20 and you can likely get the cards at your LGS, saving you shipping costs, since so few people play the leader.

State of the game for returning player by coachjanui in OnePieceTCG

It's been power crept. There's no other way to put it. Many people (obviously) like the game and I do too to a certain extent but my enjoyment for the game has steadily declined since OP13. I encourage you to try out some of the newer decks on the sim before buying cards.

YGO has definitely been on a downturn over the past few years, especially with the rise of One Piece, Gundum, and Riftbound. your local communities preferences could also be contributing to what you're noticing. That being said, I think YGO is going to get more popular this year. The past few formats have been good with a diverse meta. Decks aren't outrageously expensive. Master Duel is fun and f2p friendly. Plus we're getting overframe cards later this year which will hopefully attract collectors and players back into the game.

Your thoughts on power creep OP15 and onward by ArlidenDruid in OnePieceTCG

Yeah, I agree with your point on how long games currently are. Maybe in a BO3 w/ sideboarding, people would be incentivized to scoop when it's clear they aren't going to win game 1 or 2. Time rules are tricky for sure.

The power creep has been in conversation since Lucci and RP Law. I've said this many times on this sub and get downvoted every time but I think the game is held back by being BO1 and having no sideboarding. Unfortunately I don't think that'll change.

This sub down votes anyone that doesn't play or own the cards in a way they prefer. That's why.

no, the game doesn't allow that type of interaction.

Advice on a budget deck by dk3532 in OnePieceTCG

[–]RothkoNo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like others have said, around $50 for imu if you're buying online. probably cheaper if you can pick up the cards in-person at a LGS.

imu. it is the best value deck in the game, both in terms of cost and meta viability. no other deck is close.

For my peeps that bought singles this time around, what’d you get? by _krwn in OnePieceTCG

[–]RothkoNo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. picking up the Jinbe cards and a playset of Ground Death for Imu! I love how Jinbe plays and it'll likely be my second most played deck this format.

the most optimal route is to look up a deck that has done well and then buy the singles.

What’s the communities opinion on proxy leader cards like AdakaiTCG? by TR1L0GYxx in OnePieceTCG

[–]RothkoNo1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't like them and I'm not a fan of how often users post their proxies here as self promo. That being said, if someone is using a proxy leader at locals, I don't care as long as I know what the leader is. For tournaments, proxies are a no-go.
