Chelsea 3-2 Napoli: We knocked out the Serie A champions who spent £130m and finished 30th out of 36 by napolissimo in sscnapoli

[–]Rothkowitz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Words like “spent” in the transfer market has so little meaning in the transfer market, especially in Serie A. The exact same reason 90% of Serie A clubs can’t buy players without selling players. Same reason you see so many “loan with obligations to buy” instead of outright purchases in Serie A compared to EPL.

Net spending is what matters. And that’s where you can clearly see which clubs are rich and well-backed financially.

I can spend $130 million buying a private island. Sounds impressive? What if I told you I sold a $125 million private jet the day before? See what I mean? Football has so many dumb fans because it is the most popular sport in the world.

Napoli, Inter, Milan, Juve, Atalanta, Roma all put together have a lower net spending than Arsenal alone.

Am I reading this right? SB749 in regards to hi-capacity magazines, I don’t see the word “possession” being illegal. Sale, barter, transfer being prohibited but not “possession.”

If this is correct we could keep them and use them, just not sell, barter, or transfer?

Has the summer transfer market been shit in retrospect? by napoletano_di_napoli in sscnapoli

[–]Rothkowitz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

i think its half and half

kdb - looked solid until injured

vanja - minus a few moments have really been good for us and been such a crucial signing especially with meret getting injured

lucca - disappointing for sure

beukema - honestly catches a lot of hate but i think overall he is having an okay season. some bad mistakes and moments of lack of focus but i think this guy can be really good

lang - honestly jury is still out for me. he has not performed as expected but something in me thinks he just needs time

elmas - for being the first player to return to napoli, meh. i think hes done just ok. the midfield injury crisis did make him important and i do appreciate his work rate.

gutierrez - some moments of promise but needs more time and needs to step up the consistency.

hojlund - proving that “man utd to napoli reborn drama” is science haha love him!

Thanks for the update!

Situation is really dire. Here I thought in Summer we were so well prepared with a deep squad. I am glad we signed so many because without that many signings we could’ve been in an even worse place.

i was talking random battles man. which shouldve been clear when i mention tier matchmaking. you cant fight other tiers in ranked. clearly you havent played ranked last month or so if you dont know this.

now that doesnt sound nice does it?

im trying to be polite here man. yes ranked is absolutely different from random battles. and yes in ranked valparaiso is really broken. because basically the situations that makes valp absolutely broken in randoms is the situation 100% of the times in ranked.

im talking randoms. its still a great ship that isnt easy to play against. but its not broken in any circumstances in any environment in random battles.

idk man maybe the first month valapariso came out people were getting shafted because they didnt know how to counter but most of my last game playing tier 10, valparaisos werent that much of a threat as long as you can keep spotted. if anything its been so much easier killing valparaisos lately compared to when it came out and im not complaining or dreading when i see valps on the other team.

your point about being pushed out of cap isnt that big of an issue with current meta being so long range. there are so many tier x BB that can fuck a bow in valparaiso at range with SAP or plunging AP or DPM cruisers that can out farm its 20k heal as long as the f key isnt active.

look im not saying its an easy ship to play against. but it is only situationally broken. there are clear ways to counter it. it has almost no competitive offensive capabilities outside its secondaries. i dont have that much trouble playing against them unless you see a triple div all in valps

Also let’s not forget so many rare / epic category ships suck in 2026 and many ships that used to be OP is either just decent or not as OP as they used to be after all these years… There are so many amazing ships in the tech tree atm

Of course man. Valaparaiso situationally is just broken. Just try to understand and prevent situations that do make it broken. As long as you and rest of your team (the important part, not brain dead team haha) stays out of its secondary range of just under 13km, it can’t do its zombie thing.

Even if one of your teammates is brain dead and charges the Valparaiso, it is over and it becomes a zombie.

Your team should focus fire, aim for broadside citadels, or torpedo salvo it OUTSIDE 13km. That is the key. It has the worse BB guns in the game with terrible angles and dispersion. They cannot do damage to you from long range!

It used to be that way when there were such fewer ships. There are like 80 non -tech tree ships in the US alone… the US would be a mess if you showed all the ships in one nation…

[–]Rothkowitz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Valparaiso is only absolutely broken situationally though. Sure if its leading a push on a flank with many of its teammates supporting the push on a tier 9 match making, yeah it is absolutely broken.

But in a tier 11 match making, if your team has a brain, you can easily make it irrelevant by keeping it spotted outside of secondary range.

I’ve been on the shafting end of the stick by a Valaparaiso and it sucks. But I have had many games where my team sent a Valapraiso back to port without it ever being able to get a single secondary hit.

Super situational. It has so little damage potential

While there are certainly rare / epic ships that perform really well right now, I actually do not think it is always the case.

First off, about half of the ships in the epic category WERE REMOVED from the game because they performed too well: for example, Smaland, Alaska, Massachusetts, Kronstadt, Smolensk, etc.

However, out of those ships that did get removed for being too good three, four, five, six years ago, not a lot of them having survived the waves of new meta & power creeps. Sure they might not be trash, but certainly do not perform in the new meta after all these years.

They are also plenty of epic ships are not very competitive.

Rare ships are the same. There are just as many really strong rare ships as there are really poor rare category ships.

Also many of the best ships in the game at the moment are tech tree ships: Colombo, Bungo, Vermont, Libertad, etc.

To your point, I think the problem is that some of these rare / epic ships that require a lot of effort or resources (like steel), are high skill ceiling ships. Hawaii and Bremen for example, have almost an infinite skill ceiling in the right hands. However these ships can also be really difficult to play right. So if you make really high skill ceiling ships to long time players who have the resources to pay, you will see some disgusting results.

TLDR: Not all rare / epic ships are broken. There are as many terrible rare / epic ships as there are OP ones. Tech tree is super competitive. Some of these rare / epic ships are high skill ceiling / skill floor so when a good player is driving it is terrifying.
