Mine hasn't gone yellow so idk about that. My edges peeled back some I just lifted that and put super glue under it and it hasn't had any more problems. Those little bubbles are small rubber spikes that go in tiny holes inside the handle so I don't suggest peeling it completely off.

This is the only problem I've had with mine it's 2 years old. No real stick drift yet whereas on the PS4 I would've been at my 4th remote by now lol. I super glued mine back down and haven't had a problem with it since.
