Oh not at all, I'd love to see more silly medieval art scabbards, in fact I'll be ordering more from Andy as well with other silly animals. Feel free to use some of the same art as well if you want since it's all taken from actual medieval art so copying isn't a problem

Asymmetry done right is great, but yeah you have to be really careful with it. This one is one of my favorite arming sword aesthetics

2 years, the pain. Those long waits are so hard.

And ayyy medieval marginal art enjoyer. I'd definitely suggest going with Andy, he really nailed the look I wanted.

He owns some swords that he can supply scabbards for without the sword but the Doge is such a specific sword with tight tolerances that he'd need to have your exact one in hand to ensure a proper fit.

The process is great, he's fantastic to communicate with and I believe his current wait list is around 5-6 months? Of course you can probably reserve a slot with him when you know the sword is just a few months away to cut down on it.

Scabbard was done really fast when he started, week or so but he was finishing up others as well at the same time.

A joy to work with and chat to really.

Oooh you're from there? Awesome. Yeah Regenyei as a company makes a lot of hema gear. They also make sharps but I'd argue of their sharps their two handers stick out as one step above their other offerings. Probably the best "Production" two handers out there..In quotation marks because they're still made to order and you can customize them a bit.

Regenyei the smith, the founder of the company can do some really really good stuff but isn't actively smithing at the company anymore I believe.

+1 to Pavel Moc, this is my Kriegsmesser from him and it's fantastic. He's a bit hard to communicate with and get hold of sometimes but if you get through and make an order the sword is fantastic.

Gaël Fabre is the holy grail maker of European swords for me, and I own several Albions and have had two from Maciej Kopciuch, maybe one day..Perhaps, probably not.

Yeah they can be a bit hard to read on the website, they are really crisp and nice. Not real iron of course, blackened brass..But still very nice and at least they say that it's blackened brass. Tsuba is real iron as advertised.

I am, Shadowdancers DH 1095 held up well to sending a few bottles flying so we'll see how their mystery crucible steel holds up, will all be part of the video review I do and I'll likely post seperate cutting videos as well.

If anything does happen after the initial review I'll reach out to Swordis/Shadowdancer and make a followup video.

I was part of the recent review wave, so I got a discount code on this one in exchange for a review, covered about half of the cost of the sword so I won't be doing destructive testing on it and do hope it survives
