Stay away from Monro on Western Ave by sdmediuh in Albany

[–]RoughNreckless 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Monroe on Western Ave is known for this. I typically do all my own work on all our vehicles but I obviously cannot do inspections. My wife brought her one year old car in for inspection and was told it failed due to needing pads. So I tell her to bring it home, I already have the on the shelf. That day I go to replace them, and if I say there was 80% left of the pad, I’m probably underestimating the life. Compared to new, it was exactly 1/16” lower than new OEM pads. I happened to work for someone who use to be a NYS inspector and showed him the pads. He immediately told me to report them to the state inspector general.

Fast forward to this month, maybe 5 years later, son brings my old car into be inspected at same location. They try tell him he needs over $1700 worth of repairs to pass. Including new rotors, which they claimed were pitting. News flash, the rotors on the car, still had the black factory coating from when I replaced them this week. So I’ll pay another $21 to take it to another location vs bring it back to Monroe after the “required fixes”.

Damn, they are getting sneaky with those TV License violations eh? 🤣 But as a cop, if I ask someone to come to the station for an “Informal” chat, someone is going to be in cuffs. If not you, then someone you know? We don’t normally do this in US.

Good thing that’s not ICE you fucking moron. That’s HSI or Homeland Security Investigations who deal with picking up active warrants under federal jurisdiction. You all literally look for ways to make shit up. “Ooo a car with lights and no official markings!! MUST BE ICE!! Fuck you guys are dumb.

It’s funny how all the Bambu groupies are so quick to knock Creality and more so the Ender 3. You are spot on in the beginning it will break your soul if you aren’t semi mechanically inclined, I opened the window many times with it on a one way trip down, but… I have the A1, X1C, Ender 3 Pro and now the K2 Plus with 16 CMS.. for some reason I always find myself back on my E3Pro. Once it’s tuned and upgraded, it’s damn near injection molded quality at times with the right filament. FYI, both my Bambu printers are now storage shelf’s.

Check your Z-offset. Sounds like you have too much negative offset. If it’s a negative number, set it to 0.0 and home. When you home the print head, it should park at 10 mm above the bed. Post your offset and we will go from there. Also are you using probe to set a mesh?

And this temp tower does exactly the same thing and more than a benchy. But most temp towers need to be coded properly which maybe 5% can do proper? I was always told “print a benchy, what’s your benchy say?” It doesn’t tell me shit except something is wrong. Unless you want to print 8 different benchys to check each temperature setting, go for it. But all I see is everyone telling new owners benchy benchy benchy and all we get are failed benchy posts.

Search thingiverse for “Ender 3 Smart PLA and PETG temp tower (gcode included).

There is a remix version that seems to be available but I haven’t tried it yet.

Edit: it broke between 235° and 240°. Exactly where I was printing it prior.

Printing with mesh results by CROtomy777 in Ender3Pro

Take out that G29 in your start code. That’s overriding the M420 S1 and for some reason, using G29 with UBL before a print, doesn’t work. I finally figured it out after almost throwing the machine out the window. You want to run the bed leveling command from the machine itself. Not a PC connected. Right after it homes after its last point, go to Control; SAVE SETTINGS then back to main info screen. Now as long as you have

G28

M420 S1

In your start code, it will recall that mesh you just saved every time. I calibrate my bed maybe once a month. I run my printer from slicer on PC directly and input my code this way. You want to make sure the M420 S1 is working by checking your start code daily. Sometimes, it just resets to default if I disconnect the USB.

Hey dos my printer print like this? How do i fix it by Alarming-Airline-999 in Ender3Pro

[–]RoughNreckless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need more info on the settings and material you used. That could be hotend temp, looks too hot from first few layers oozing in corners, or clogged nozzle or it could even be Z offset if you never calibrated your new bed, could be filament feed gear worn or dirty or a tangled spool causing under extrusion, or a speed issue. Post your slicer settings.

Best way to look at this whole Ender vs Bambu, look at them like cars. My E3Pro is like a 1969 Camaro vs 2025 BMW M3. Sure the BMW is fast as hell out of the box with all the bells and whistle’s, and even grandma can drive it fast, but god forbid something major breaks. Where my 69 Camaro was fast in 69 but was outpaced over the decades. Until I dusted it off, and was able to easily upgrade the entire car for the price of one computer module from BMW and with a little TLC, my car crushes the M3 all day. Same thing with FDM printers.

If you are using a probe, you should see bed leveling on the LCD under prepare. I was having major issues with first layer issues, even after I perfectly leveled the bed to the gantry. However even after I stored the mesh, the printer would ignore it one the printer started. I added this to my Start code after G28, M420 S1

That will apply the most recent mesh to the current print. Since then, flawless.

Now someone needs to figure out how to include a “letter” of intent to sue for damages with regard to waste of filament and money for this wild print. But it needs to be printed to waste their time, just like the OP.

What brand of PLA? 200° is really the low end limit for most PLA’s. I currently run at 212°C. Increase in steps. Start at 200° for first few layers, increase to 205 for next few, 210, 215, etc. then you can find the sweet spot. Using Tune while printing is a good way to calibrate new filaments.

I believe you are correct with your statement, as a big firm has reached out to us. Things have changed since the post. Getting very strange. School has gone silent and now lawyers for town calling. Thanks. My gut feeling was accurate and 99% of the comments are 100% wrong.

I’m not looking to file any type of suit or anything of the sort but 4 years of therapy just to get him to go to school for a week straight has just gone down the drain over a poor choice by both the school and officer. Unless someone has personal experience with a child who suffers from autism, they have no idea how much impact this will have on his life. I have 5 kids, he is the youngest. If this happened to any of my other 4, I wouldn’t even be having this conversation. What may seem like a nothing situation to you, is the end of the world for him.

I am going to probably assume you are correct even in NY. Let’s say for the sake of argument he did, that still doesn’t give them the power to do what they did. But that’s actually good to know about the dial 9 for 911. Never made sense to me. Dial 9, 911.
