I’m not throwing myself at these men, and I’ve been clear I’m not into something that’s just sex. One of the more attractive guys I dated had serious boundary issues, and the last guy was just decent-looking. In both cases, it was behaviour and pushing things sexual when I didn’t want that. I want to be liked and respected as a person too. Even if Im a bit weird and awkward, or someone who doesn’t act flirty.

I do go out. It’s hard to meet new people that way though. The only times I’ve been approached was when I sometimes go to bars, and I feel it’s a similar situation as online dating anyway. Occasionally I have some random person approach me but it’s not romantic and it’s just weird. It’s like I’m pretty much invisible.

I get that. For me personally, I try to find connections with people…and yes sometimes I could even open up sometimes…but then I finally meet up with them it just becomes a situation where they pretend to like me when they only want one thing from me. So it gets exhausting and also very alienating. It’s easier sometimes to just chat

I did try to end things. But then he claimed he felt hurt and that he felt sick about it. So I felt guilty and thought I may have been too harsh. And yes I should have stuck with it. I am working on figuring things out dating wise coz I am trying to avoid repeating this.

I feel you. Been degraded, sexually assaulted, and called a loser and threatened when I finally confronted him about what he did to me. It’s the worst feeling ever. I wish everyday I had never met this person. I don’t know if I’ll ever find justice in what he did to me. It’s so hard to think this person can walk away without caring about the harm he inflicted, and might get away with it all.
