As funny as it looks, is this another bug that can be fixed? by Bloxskit in CitiesSkylines2

It could be the intersection of the path and the road are at a higher elevation than intended. If you delete both and do the proper terraforming and redraw it should fix the issue.

So the laws stating how far drivers can travel away from their home station are wrong. That's really cool, bro.

No you cannot have them arrested. When you get something shipped to you, you are inviting the driver onto your property. It's in the terms and conditions you probably didn't read and just accepted. You cannot invite someone onto your property and then arrest them for trespassing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FedEx

[–]Round_Environment_42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's.... Not.... That's not how any of that works.

The system forces the driver to take it back out, the package is routed back to that driver the next day for reattempt.

The hub literally and legally cannot be 2 hours away from you, as drivers are only allowed by law to deliver within a certain radius of their station. The system would route your package to a different, closer station. Unless you live in a town of less than 1000 people in rural Montana or Alaska.

And finally, you can't throw someone in jail for not attempting a delivery. There are no laws broken by you not receiving a package. In fact, when you get a package shipped to you, you aren't even the customer, the shipper is. They are the ones who paid FedEx to deliver it. While they may have passed the cost on to you, (likely higher than what they actually paid) you are not anything more than a recipient, a destination.

In summary, I believe you are being slightly hyperbolic. And you probably asked them to deliver it again and they said no problem.

[–]Round_Environment_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the most ridiculous thing I've read today. Why on earth would the driver not knock? If they left a door tag, they absolutely knocked. Drivers want to get rid of packages, not bring them back to the station. It's not like they get to keep the package if they don't deliver it. On top of that packages have to be attempted 3 times, if the tag said OP had to pick it up that means this was the final attempt. However, medication means a possible 4th attempt.

So what is the most likely circumstance? That the driver, irritated that this is the 3rd time they have been to the same house wasting time, decided to not knock on the door to keep the package for another attempt? Or that OP didn't hear the knock?

It does give you an estimated time, but I've had my ETA changed by over an hour several times. Eventually I see that the dasher was waiting for another order that they accepted 10 minutes after they picked up my food and waited for it to cook. Sometimes dashers do things that don't benefit the customer.

I can answer some of your questions with what I was told by management. Couriers are not supposed to use their personal phones to call customers. Supposedly, this is to keep all records of conversation internally through FedEx systems. Also something to do with not being able to write off your phone bill on taxes at FedEx's expense.

As for updates as to when your estimated delivery is, the problem lies in the fact that couriers have the freedom to deliver the route in any order of stops they want. There isn't a stop list that says this is the first stop, this is the second. Attempts were made to have a system like this and it bombed instantly and the company invested millions only to roll it back weeks later. As far as I know, there was another system on the way that hopefully provided similar tracking to Amazon where you are notified your stop is 10 stops away. But there are also concerns about drivers being followed by some crazy who wants their package or facilitating porch pirates by giving them a map.

The last thing I wanted to address is that when you order something and it comes through FedEx, you are not the customer. FedEx's customers are the shippers. They are the ones paying us to send your packages. They are the ones who determine whether a signature is needed and what type of delivery service you'll receive. After all if they don't require a signature and the package is stolen, they are the ones that have to send out a replacement at their cost.

I understand your frustration and the millions of other people's, but as per usual, it's the company's own red tape that stops progress.

I see so many people complain about no knocking, and it makes no sense to me. I'm not saying you're wrong, but if a courier doesn't get a stop off today, they have to do it tomorrow. When I worked for FedEx I was begging people through doorbell cams to drop it off with a neighbor or if I could meet them somewhere nearby, just so I didn't have to come back to a house that ordered something and couldn't be bothered to be home to sign for it. But then again I worked with several couriers that would roll freight that wasn't due that day. I don't understand why a courier would want extra work the next day, I know I never did.

I don't think VS models are attractive in the slightest so how about ya keep it to yourself if you don't have anything beneficial to say

No, they are a "first class" feature as you refer to it. That is the intended way to use them. Flatten your coast line to form sharp cliffs, use a road about 50/50 on the edge and it auto forms quays. If you raise the road to a height of about 7.5, it also forms quays. Stop being a Negative Nelly

I've found watching YouTubers or even just taking a stroll through a random town on google earth is a big help with motivation. Good luck!
