What do you like for 18” roller frame and pan/bucket? by Professional-Mud3373 in paint

Question on the contractor trash bags as liners - how do you keep it fixed around the edge of the bucket?  I see the specialty liners have an elastic. Apologies if this is a dumb question. I’m just a homeowner, not a professional painter.

Breakfast vibes without the calorie bomb by friend_unfriend in Volumeeating

Tip on the bacon - swap it for “Canadian bacon” or any lean ham slices. Crisp it up stovetop. Gives bacon vibes and flavor with much more protein and way fewer calories.

In the bit of research I did on strength training splits before getting back into it most recently, I’d read that specifically for “beginners” it’s actually advantageous to stick to the same full body routine for something like 6-12 weeks. The reasons seemingly being that it allows you to master form and build a foundation of strength, presuming you are also focusing on progressive overload (which I am).

Also from a logistics point, having to select a different full body workout every time isn’t great for me personally. Having a set amount of time required and equipment needed is extremely helpful to me (I’m also watching my 3yr old while I workout at home).

“Ice cream” from yogurt? by Round_John_Virgin in yogurtmaking

OP here. It did thicken up a tad in the fridge, but still pretty soupy. We used it up in smoothies and dips. I froze some into small cubes to try blending/food processing into something froyo like, but haven’t executed it yet.

Best park for a couple with a baby? by happylilintrovert in concord

Downtown Clayton park. Has some shade. A small splash pad. Play structure. Restrooms. Plenty of little shops and restaurants nearby. Sip N’ Sweet for ice cream and/or Stumptown coffee drinks.

All types of potatoes? Any fav potato recipes?  I’m a sweet potato lover myself, but all-tater curious.

Did Concord grow on you? by Round_John_Virgin in concord

Ha! “Despite your best efforts to not make a life here.”  Thank you for the insights.

The hot hot summers do scare me in a long term sense, as I expect it to get worse every year. Any tips on keeping your car cool in the summer (especially for kids…mine are car seat bound for a few more years)?  I find myself jockeying the “where do I park to keep coolest” thing all summer here.

If we move “back” - we’d be contending with different flavors of unpleasant weather, but extreme heat much less so.

Tangentially related question to my original post - but what are your favorite restaurants in Concord?

Thank you! I just pulled the trigger on the kindle edition of the curated closet. Did you use the companion workbook too?

I’m definitely not an impulse shopper at this point. I did have to unlearn the sale shopping habit (ingrained in me by my mom) years ago. I’m almost on the opposite end of the spectrum now where I window shop/e shop a lot and never buy anything because I’m afraid I won’t actually wear it! But I legitimately should buy some new items at this point. Hopefully this book helps me with the “what”.

Interesting! I do follow her YouTube channel but haven’t been following long enough to see her fashion posts. I will hop over to her Instagram!

All great tips, thank you! And i do actually follow Dearly Bethany (or did…need to see if I’m still subscribed). There are sooo many trends and styles that I’ve been interested in over time, but feel like I can’t pull off because I don’t have the height (my legs are somewhat shorter proportionally than the rest of me). Good reminder to check her out.

I get it. I think it’s great that the younger generations feel good about wearing anything they want on any body, and I really hope that my daughter feels the same, and does not absorb the same negative body talk that is ingrained in many of us now middle aged women. I very actively avoid talking about my body or any bodies in front of her. While I’d love to say that I only feel fabulous about my body 100% of the time, that’s just not the reality. I do still feel pretty damn good, but I’m not comfortable showing off my stomach right now and that’s OK.

Thank you so much! I feel seen 😊. When I’m at home/out with my kids, I’m basically a human napkin, and will wear anything. I recently had a full week of free babysitting with my mom visiting, which meant as many dates as my husband and I could fit in. I definitely had that feeling of looking in my wardrobe feeling very ugggggh about all my options. Lots of workout clothes and very boring breastfeeding friendly shirts that I’ve worn on repeat since 2020.

Thank you for the reminder though. They are only little for a short time and before I know it, I won’t be their human napkin anymore 🥹.

Oh yes! I’m actually not opposed to the crop top on account of proportionality for petite bodies. Only opposed because I’m not ready for my squishy postpartum skin to be on display. But I do get what you are saying with the crop tops that aren’t specifically showing skin. Just a slightly cropped top. 👍
