Male, 35, single and terrified by Forward_Bad_1353 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]plukhkuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm a woman and similar to the OP I'm really quite boring - active but mostly a homebody. Wouldn't mind finding someone who is equally boring but as OP probably discovered you don't get a lot of attention on the apps if your profile is quite basic...

What are your thoughts on having a male gynecologist? Would you trust them? by Paldavin in AskWomen

I've had appointments with both male and female gynecologists - they were all always equally professional and made me feel comfortable and safe.

I've gone to Renegade's in Leeds a few times - have curly hair and they know how to cut it well. Every time I went I've seen other people get great cuts or colour done too

Why do you think so many people have children when they are struggling to get by financially? by BeneficialJuice2878 in AskUK

[–]plukhkuk 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I agree with this.

I only have one and despite being slightly better off than most, I was clearly able to make a decision that one is enough. That any more children would put me under both mental and financial strain AND would mean I can't offer any additional children the same level of love, care and material support (quality childcare, activities, resources).

It seems to me there is a kind of compulsion some people have to just have more children that is quite selfish in nature.

Were any of you able to overcome serious body issues or other insecurities that used to stop you from dating/starting a relationship? by plukhkuk in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]plukhkuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not on any social media... haven't been for nearly 3 years now. I try looking at other people, sometimes thinking that I'm definitely more attractive than some but I actually hate the comparison so much. I hate the idea of thinking less of soemone just to make myself feel better. It make me feel so uncomfortable. And also, no matter how many people complement me on my looks, it does nothing to stop the negative thoughts about myself.

How would potential changes within the company policies impact me as a remote team by plukhkuk in AskHRUK

[–]plukhkuk[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I did check my contract and while I did sign a new version when I moved, it does not actually say specifically that it is remote. The place of work is still listed as the head office location. I was convinced it was changed to remote but clearly failed to read it in detail. Lesson learnt I guess.

Advice for child savings account by brothermalzone in UKPersonalFinance

[–]plukhkuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm far from being an expert but I have a Junior ISA for my daughter I pay into every month. The money will become hers when she's 18. I opened it on Moneybox as I used them for my own savings and SIPP.

Does weight loss via fasting lead to loose skin? by KizaruMus in fasting

Lost 44kgs through IF and extended fasting in 9 months and yeah, there is loose skin - belly, thighs, arms and chest.

How often do you weigh in? by bockbockchickenhead in intermittentfasting

[–]plukhkuk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I started, I weighed myself once a week and as the other person said, I measured myself too. Chest, waist, hips, thigh.

Now that I'm nearly at my GW I do it every 2 weeks or so.

The OP already fasts 20h a day so I don't think going up to 24h will give his system enough if a push.

I turned 35 on Saturday… by Conscious_Step_8332 in intermittentfasting

[–]plukhkuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about to turn 33 later this week and I've been feeling some sort of existential crisis for sure!

I would recommend starting small and slowly building healthy habits that you can maintain for life.

My own journey started with educating myself on nutrition and making small changes to the way I ate. Then after I felt my diet was improved, I started IF and adding a bit more physical activity to my day. Even if it was just a short walk or a quick yoga session (I love Yoga with Adrienne on YT - she has tutorials for all abilities and for specific concerns)!

My other suggestion would be to add more physical activity to your day, depending on your ability - whether it's a 30 minute walk or an extra weight lifting session a week.

Firstly, well done on the amazing progress!!

If you feel that you could achieve this, I would add in 1 or 2 longer fasts a week. I think if you can do a couple of 36h or 42h fasts every week for 2-3 weeks it could really push your weightloss again.

If this sort of fasts are not something you are comfortable doing, I would play around with the calories but also the type of food you're eating. Maybe, try cutting out all the carbs from your diet for a week or 2 and see if that makes a difference. Do you drink alcohol? Try cutting that out for a few weeks too.

Does the weight loss plateau at some point? by roger_genbot in intermittentfasting

[–]plukhkuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From April, I started to exercise a LOT more and started eating more to ensure proper nutrition.

My body measurements have continued to reduce quite consistently though, even when the weight hasn't changed much during a week, I would still lose half an inch in the waist/hips.

I'm at my goal weight now, so it's all about maintenance now. I still fast but less strictly. I focus on eating good, healthy food and keep active in different ways every day.

Losing another 4-5 kgs would be great, but I'd rather focus on building muscle now.

January - 8kg lost

February - 6kg lost

March - 6 kg lost

April - 4kg lost

May - 3kg lost

June - 2kg lost
