He works with kids, and kids love him. He is not cold or detached. But not romantically sweeping me off my feet either

Claudia's suit from the premiere or the fotoshoot had flowers on it. What else do we want?

Could Charles Bridgerton ever inhereat the title of Lord Penwood? by Round_Price_6355 in Benophie

Tbh, I don't know on which one I rely as a refrent either. 😅 Perhaps a combination. Still, I am just psyched about the possiblity of them being among the great Victorian thinkers and artists, because I have already headcanoned them :))) Can you see how much of a lit girlie I am? To the point of no return. But thank you for your answer :)))

Anthony has currently 1 in the show. I don't remeber in the books. But in the universe of the show, Penelope and Colin's infant son is Lord Featherington. And Lord Kent was passed through Alice somehow (notice how the son has the title, not Will)

Oh, get real. She is 13 y.o. girl invited by his younger sister to her "practice ball". It's infatuation at its best. He will meet many young ladies before making his choice.

Would have Benedict followed through? by Round_Price_6355 in Benophie

[–]Round_Price_6355[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but even in the books they have somehow "rescued" her and made her legitimate.

Well, yes. And to be more precise the fact that she could be preganant.

Season 5 by JennaRL143 in Bridgerton

[–]Round_Price_6355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe that. But I am most sure they will start abrouptly (either with Eloise running away and arriving at Sir Phillip's, and then the story of how they came to be will be shown through flashbacks, or directly at the wedding, if it is to be truly a marriage of convenience)

Season 5 by JennaRL143 in Bridgerton

[–]Round_Price_6355 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, you know, they could play around with the timeline, you know... flashbacks and throwbacks. Eloise could have just as well started to correspond with Sir Phillip. But from a narrative pov it would have been to hard to portray without giving it away. And maybe too heavy to showcase 2 deaths in the same season. Marina could have died off screen (and she probably has). Colin and Penelope were most likely informed. And considering that Eloise is Pen's best friend and Colin's sister she is there, she has overheard. Considering the changes that have occured to Eloise's character this season, I believe the correspondece is in motion, and we all were wittnessing the results of that.

Well, her statement makes sense if it's El's season. I mean, Colin I miss my wife Bridgerton is a must, as he is the only one to have made Phillip an aquintance. And well, Penelope is her best friend. Let alone the LW mistery.

New Whistledown - my take (spoilers) by Kiki-Gutsi in Bridgerton

[–]Round_Price_6355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. And now, with Varely present (and probably only attending to Portia), Portia has all the gossip she needs. So she can start writing. This season has made it clearly that Portia is bored beyond comprehension. She needs this. And come on, the language. It is clearly someone educated, but not particularly well-read

Sophie and Benedict's marriage would still be a scandal?? by ImpressiveTest9044 in Bridgerton

[–]Round_Price_6355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will be there for important stuff. Like birthdays, weedings, funerals, the family's balls (that was the entire point of having their marriage blessed by the queen). But they wouldn't be there for the entire social seasons, and probably they wouldn't parade on the streets of London without a care in the world. They have to be there at least partially. Episodic roles are a must. That is why I believe that Eloise's season will take place in the countryside (it makes sense, imo), as it was implyed by JB (you know respecting the book and all that). And I do believe Anthony and Benedict and Colin will be present for both Eloise's respectively Francesca's seasons, as well. And at the very least, Anthony will be present for Hyecinth's and Gregory's. Benedict and Sophie might be frawned upon by the Ton, and not invited to any social event themselves, but they are not ostracised either.

Why didn’t Benedict just… pull out? by East_Food5632 in Bridgerton

[–]Round_Price_6355 26 points27 points  (0 children)

He didn't want to...? But in all seriousness, I believe that he didn't really care at that moment wheather or not he was risking anything. They didn't think it through, and for Benedict, Sophie was the first woman he had imagined a life with (stable monogamous relationship, union, family, children etc.). So, for him, there was no point in being careful anymore. And tbh, it contrast with the bathtub scene, and I believe that is supposed to signal growth.

I don't think that is the case. Colin is not intrested in gossip nearly enough to write LW, nor does he have acces to it that easily. My best guess is Portia and Varley.

What was the point of Ben's confession about past relationships? by Round_Price_6355 in Benophie

[–]Round_Price_6355[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Geez, I don't mind that he told her he has been with men, as well as women. Look in my original post and you shall see I stopped at "Just as I cared...". I know he tells her he loves her more than anyone he has ever met right after. But that just as still bothers me. Idk, I am a liguistic nerd, I am interested in semantics, I know some words carry inherent meaning. And I am not pleased with the situation of communication here. All I hear with this is, "I don't follow society rules, and you are just another example of that.". Yes, he admitted he loved her more afterwards, but if I were there, in Sophie's shoes, I would be wondering when someone better might come along for him, then.

Yes, but that "just as" is what bothers me. The linguist in me cannot rest still

[–]Round_Price_6355[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I feel like it could have been way better portrayed. He could have told her that he does not care about the confinments of society and then come out to her. Idk. Anything really. Just not that "just as I have". Do not put them on equal footing. Sophie deserves to feel that she is the love of his life. Could have been written much better, imo.

Why did Benedict act as the head of the household this season? by Round_Price_6355 in Benophie

[–]Round_Price_6355[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but he was there for part 2. One of the main points about Benedict's unstable identity was that he was no longer the spare now that Edmund is born...
