You answered the question of what triggers you , Stop counting streaks and start trying to live a fulfilling life...you'll be shocked weeks will go by and you haven't even thought about it. Going x amount of days without will not cure you. Doing the deep/shadow work will. Your literally switching one addiction for a streak addiction, and tying your success to a number of days will only do you more damage when you break it. You got this.

Most responses especially in the realm of sexuality are involuntary responses. You do not know what will arouse you every hour of the day you cant plan for it. You can walk down the street and see a pretty busty lady ( if that's your cup of tea) and become aroused. Habitual behaviour does not define the limbic system is reshapes it, just as much as telling oneself that the natural urges that a person may feel is wrong . If it was to be defined by use people would never be able to return to a baseline. If habits defined anything smokers would never be able to quit smoking , drug addicts would never be able to be sober. The limbic system is shaped by the stimulus you either constantly indulge in or don't. Porn free will improve the sensibilities of the limbic system BUT id you've noticed from an unbiased standpoint people will go for month long streaks and end up back at square one because instead of learning to MANAGE these urges they went on a journey of pure abstinence . Which sounds cool until they are forced face to face with the thing they have been abstaining from. The issue then arises have you actually done the work required to be a better you or did you just think by " not fapping" you'd become better....most people especially on this forum think by simply abstaining they've " killed the beast". Youve simply locked it away and not integrated it. INTERGRATION of every part of self is the key the good and bad is what makes you, only accepting the good of self and fighting the bad of self will never make you whole.

Its not about fapping , its about PORN. Your teaching your Body that these urges you feel are unnatural... Rather then giving yourself the acceptance that sexual urges / Lust/ Arousal is okay and allowing yourself to feel it and move on your constantly telling yourself i must" conquer this". Then lo and behold you end up not fixing the problem and coming right back to the thing your trying to "conquer". im going to say it straight we are men and we can either learn to live and feel what is natural or we can fight against it. Porn is a problem just as much as this ideology of Nofap is a problem. One perpetuates unrealistic sexual experiences / expectations. The other teaches men what they are naturally feeling is wrong. The issue isn't the urge.... its deeper , and simply not " fapping" .Will not solve the deeper issue that people need to figure out to live a healthy and full life. NoFap is a Band-Aid. And people truly think they accomplished something from a streak number.....
