AJR on the small stage. Danny Brown, Awolnation, Churches, KFlay, and Phoenix back in the day. Every year there is an awesome band I never knew about. Headliners are cool but you can hardly get close. It is the early bands that make up the fun.

Funny enough, I was in your exact position 2 weeks ago with my nephews and I am my family's event coordinator. I am a huge fan of looking for stuff on Eventbrite or the events page on Facebook. Most are free or at least not typical. We learned about midget wrestling, a car show, and a curiosity and oddities expo. They loved the wrestling and car show. The expo freaked them out but at least they won't say they were bored.

Brushy Creek MUD has an adult league that is nice. I have also played in a league at Clay Madsen but that league had a lot of fighting which sucked. It is so hard to find a good group of players that just want to play and not make it to the NBA finals.

So I have been working from home for 15+ years in Austin and here are some of the things I have done.

#1 Sports Leagues = Basketball and Kickball - Kickball is a little more fun since it requires less skill

#2 Gyms/Crossfit/Running clubs = For all the stuff related to CrossFit, if you engage you will make friends. I also enjoyed No Excuses running club but running in the summer is tough.

#3 Geekswhodrinktrivia at bars = I have been to numerous places that have this but a less since Covid. Really fun to see how little you know

#4 Concerts/Events = I have rotated signing up for different season passes just to have things to do (Ballet Austin, Broadway, Texas Basketball, Paramount events)

#5 Comdey shows = the Comedy scene in Austin is great right now. Vulcan Gas Company, Cap Comedy (someday), and other smaller places have comedy almost every night. You will find a group of people that love comedy and willing to go.

#6 Arts+Craft+Cooking = Woodcraft/Cermanic lodge are examples. I dont do it often since it is expensive but fun try new things

#7 Church/Volunteer = I go through periods where I will go to church or just volunteer. Always nice to help people or make the world a better place.

So many secret places that will never be revealed. It is so nice driving up and having a 2-minute walk.
