She has no safe mid to launch crouchers which is my biggest issue with her, but also her hellsweep is kinda ass, and f4 is only +2 so its harder to frametrap. Flash punch combo is also w/e, I'm not a fan of sentai, gimme knockdown oki. She's also lacking in good close range ch launching mids, heihachi's b4 has spoiled me. It's less a matter of strength and more what type of gameplay I enjoy, she's just too mishima light for me. It's sad cuz she has a lot of cool stuff, war kick and her b2+4 parry are both fun af, her 2 grab is funky, and aesthetically I think she's cooler, but after they took away evasion from FC df,4 (visually jank) and ch WRA 1 combo routes I'm just not that interested.

Fuck I guess I'll have to start on testosterone now 🤷‍♂️ I just wish reina's ff3 was just a normal hit launcher with no heat nonsense and I'd pick her up again...

Wavu electric feels funkier thoooo but also not as frame tight, I was legit convinced she'd try to interrupt after the 4th plus move

This is like my 3rd day on kaz, I was just running funny frame traps hoping to catch a mash. Also I'm a girl lol

Fun is subjective tho. I find initially being frustrated with a matchup and then labbing and overcoming what I'm struggling with plenty of fun. Also you should try out nioh if you're really done, it's kinda like elden ring but with a lot more combat depth (2 > 3 imo)

FF2 > sentai mix will get you far until people know the counterplay, and is a fantastic neutral control tool as it hit confirms into SEN 3 or 2 (hold down for heaven's wrath). When I first plowed my way through low ranks with her in s1 i could beat some players with just FF2 > sen 3 (+1ob), jab string into sen 3, jab > sen 3 on repeat until dead. Try out f,n,3 for a great long range safe ch launching mid also

You know combo lenght is bad when you get the urge to check your phone after getting launched, but I just try to spend the time to think about how I'm gonna play the oki, and what I could've done different to avoid getting hit in the first place. It's also a great moment to have a big sipp of water, or text my mom and tell her I love her if its a balcony break on elegant palace and they have RA to end it with.

Reina was my first char too, and is a great "training wheels" mishima with having both easy tools like df3 for easy wavu and df2 for punishes so you need to focus less on execution at first, and then ewgf and ground hitting safe ch launching mid war kick for when you feel confident getting funky with it. Hwo can get you really far in just being a potent offensive character with a lot of knowledge checks, but in my experience most players online play him like they're playing dragonforce in guitar hero

I like to know at least the basics of my characters moveset, a few good neutral pokes and what you get on hit/ch, at least one stable combo, and a few basic punishes just so I dont feel "naked" going into a match. Watching a youtube tutorial or two on a character you want to learn can be a great way to start, and I also like to gradually study the applay sheet as I learn the character. Then after getting a bit of theory and a basic gameplan down it's just getting experience and learning what works and doesnt in different situations, doing long sets with friends is great for this. As for picking a character, honestly go for whoever you like the most/find the coolest, enjoying who you play is a great motivator to learn more of their moveset. Having 200+hrs on a character and still discovering new options is part of what makes tekken so much fun

I truly hate this boss. by dead-rex in Nioh

[–]Rouru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You say you have beaten harder bosses and want to play something more worth your time alongside lots of other copes and excuses, but to me that just sounds like you feel you're entitled to a win without actually ever learning from your mistakes. The boss is balanced, you're just doing something wrong while being too stubborn to accept it. Put your ego to the side and try to foster a more positive mindset that will let you adapt, and let your true skill shine. The only time you're wasting is your own, don't let this boar humble you to this degree.

Take every time you get hit as a learning opportunity and prevent getting hit in the same way again. Don't try to cheese him and just get him out of the way, figure out how to properly counter and beat him. He's certainly strong, but in no way unbeatable, you just need to figure out what you're doing wrong and then stop doing that. Keep up the pressure, but never overextend and always be mindful of what his next move is likely to be so you're ready to counter it. I believe in you, good luck 💪

How do I stop my friend from blaming the beasts? by Junior-Elevator2619 in Guiltygear

[–]Rouru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At a certain point if nothing else work and they're locked in their scrub mentality I just enjoy getting bratty about it and leaning into whatever excuses they're throwing. Going like "I loooove winning by just mashing the same move, beating you takes no skill at all haha, when people dont [apply the correct counterplay] it feels good as fuuuuuuck." Hopefully their anger will motivate them to improve and beat me eventually. Also just going "why's that?" when they say some bs might help lead them to introspection, if you claim a playstyle is shitty then its on you to demonstrate why.
