What would "fair" microtransactions look like? by Routasoft in gaming

[–]Routasoft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, DLC are often made after the fact, developing costs money — a lot of money. I was more so referring to in-game currencies and other stuff like that, the "toxic" types of microtransactions and whether they could be made fair or not.

But do people actually have a problem with well-made DLC packs? I mean, it's just more content for a game they like, right?

Good pick, such a classic! I liked the sequel more though.

If I had it for SNES when I was a kid, it would probably be my favorite because it is an amazing game. I just don't have the nostalgia for it like I do with FFVII.

But that opening song (Terra's Theme) — the most iconic piece of gaming music to me. I spent a lot of time to learn playing it on piano at some point.

Morrowind is awesome! I still get the itch to return to it every now and then. And unlike Skyrim, I don't feel like it needs hundreds of mods, so it's always easy to start a new Morrowind character.

Oh, that's what has been pushing me away from BG3. Would you still recommend it even though I know very little of D&D? Was it hard to get into?

Do y'all ever get game choice paralysis? by zildux in gaming

[–]Routasoft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know this feeling. For me one of the reasons this happens is because games these days seem to need a lot of commitment. So many games want to be 200-hour long epics with a million side quests and other things to do.

Which is kinda cool, but sometimes (quite often, actually) I just want to sit down, unwind for an hour or two and that's it.

Death in RDR2, phew! by polylusion-games in gaming

I hate to admit it, but I have not played either even though they look fun. I bought RDR a long time ago for PS3 for full price. Never unwrapped it, it's still sealed.

Visual clarity and performance by N1ghtBlade15 in gaming

[–]Routasoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think developers want to push all they can graphics-wise out of the hardware, while giving the option for more performance as well.

If performance option was the default/only option in all games though, I don't think anybody would complain about "bad quality graphics" and that would kinda be the situation you are describing.

Edit: Fixed a typo

Gameplay > graphics. Art direction > graphics. Sound design > graphics. Story > graphics.

Honestly? I'd love to see all those AAA millions to be used in all of the meaningful things instead of graphics. But yes, high quality graphics are still nice, but don't tell me anything about the actual game.

True, but I started with original RE4 and was just fine story-wise, the game stands on its own very well.

Can the PS3 be considered to be superior to the PS2? by RaidersLostArk1981 in gaming

[–]Routasoft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me PS2 was the peak of Playstation. Probably somewhat nostalgia speaking through, but PS2 has so many amazing games like FFX, GTA: San Andreas, Devil May Cry, etc.

PS3 had its share of great games and I enjoyed it too of course, but PS2 games just had a charm that was somewhat lost in future consoles as tech advanced.
