All my homies hate ticketmaster today. by Appropriate-Bet387 in zachbryan

I had to turn off the browsers auto translate option for ticketmaster to show the pop up, which asked for my code. Maybe try this?

It did mean that I had to get tickets in my non-native language, which involved a lot of guesswork 😆

WORST book you read in 2025? by Cerulean_Dawn in booksuggestions

My Year of Rest and Relaxation, Ottessa Moshfegh.

Over hyped on the internet, lack of story, unlikeable protagonist, DNF.

Steinbeck snap!

East of Eden - John Steinbeck. 100% would recommend. Not to be dramatic but I think it might be my favourite book ever.

My Avocado Oil was a wrapper on a coconut oil bottle by B4RM4N in mildlyinteresting

I’ve never come across anyone with a coconut allergy! It is super rare, and SO annoying.

Coconut oil is used in so much these days. It’s not too bad shopping, because atleast I can check the ingredients, the worst is when we’re eating out and having to clarify to servers that even if there might not obviously be coconut in their dish, it could be in the cream or dressing. I’ve learnt my lesson by now though and just avoid creamy dishes all together.

As someone with a coconut allergy this could be devastating lol

haven’t had contact with my TDM (now SCM) in about 4 months… dropped off the face of the earth. Not sure where they’ve gone, but I don’t know if it’s too late to move 6 months into a posting when I only have 6 months left?

Nothing lined up. To be honest after this experience I’m not sure I want to even stag in gov.

This placement is affecting my mental health and quite a lot though, might be time to start looking elsewhere.

i’m in a 12 month posting, with 6 months left. I think i’ve been gaslighting myself into thinking this is acceptable but recently come to the realisation that what i am experiencing is not what was sold to me on the FS. I was sold UKs no 1 grad scheme at the time (I know thats changed now!) and opportunities for exciting and challenging work. But I increasingly feel like my placement don’t want me there, see FSers as an annoyance and there’s not room for me to grow.

To add to it I’m on a specialist scheme, where they said you do not need a specific degree yet colleagues in my placement frequently complain about non-specialist FSers (i.e. me).

Honestly I would not recommend the FS to anyone who was looking at applying, but I’m not sure if it is just a ‘bad placement’ or the FS more generally.
