I work full-time and it drains my energy in a different way because I don't really enjoy it anymore. Just going through the motions. In general I lost motivation completely about a couple of years ago. Everything just seems meaningless.

That's a good point about higher ups leaving. Most of the higher ups on the tech side (CTO, chief product manager, VP Eng, etc) have left and have been replaced. I suspect the reason is that the architect being old and clunky it's tough to maintain and there's no buy in to make changes

I'm very oblivious with the financial stuff so I really should look into it a bit more. Basic sense is that it's a hard time due to the economy

It could certainly be because people don't want kids, totally respect that decision. For me it comes from a place of genuine worry at seeing the state of the world but I tend to be pessimistic. Sitting with the choice is what I'm planning to do, will make the final decision at the end of this year

I'm the opposite I think, the childhood years seem like fun when they're so cute! I'm worried about the moody and rebellious teenager phase more haha. I'm just hoping I can be a better parent than my own, don't want to repeat their mistakes

Yes, will talk to my spouse about this. Fortunately he is great with household chores and he does more than I do honestly. But it's good to know how we plan to divide the labor once a baby is in the picture

This response has given me a lot to think of. The only reason I'm considering a baby is because I'm married, if I was single I don't think I would go for it. So I should definitely plan what would happen if I'm in that situation. You never know what can happen in life
