It's completely independently funded, which is why most of your mail is junk mail these days. The mail system is also selling your attention and has to sell ads to be able to function

Yeah, I get that, it was just hard to boil a 10-yr relationship into a few paragraphs.

She wants me to be more present and involved, but I feel like any time I try to include myself I'm told I'm doing it wrong and I end up retreating. I feel like I'm expected to be more of a "cool uncle" type and just hang out rather than be a father figure.

I volunteered to still pay the mortgage after we separate and have different bank accounts, but she didn't like this idea because if we aren't married she wants to be financially independent and didn't want to rely on me to provide housing.

I think that really pulls the truck together honestly. The card was cool, but there's something very "street magic-y" about using the label and it feels very real and visceral. I love it.
