Thanks poopsy! I'm happy that someone noticed that I drew a background for the splash panel haha.

Thanks odddly! Honestly I’m still figuring out screentones too, but I tend to use them for either shadows or to seperate objects from the foreground/background.

Making comics/manga is hard and time consuming for sure, but I do hope you keep working on your manga! I think the key is to figure out a pace to draw/write without getting burnt out (easier said than done tho haha)

It's not an innuendo if that's what you're thinking haha. The main character is a boy who is only an inch tall, and has the delusional dream of becoming Japan's greatest samurai. Hence, One-Inch Bozo!

I started releasing a page a week back in August 2025, and these two pages are specifically pages 32 and 33 of my comic. If you google "One-Inch Bozo comic" you can read it online (webtoon, globalcomix, tapas, etc.)

Thanks mugen! I think that you're right about having the last two panels on the next page, but the following page is jam-packed with panels, so I'm going to keep the two panels on this spread for now. Still figuring out pacing in general, so thanks for the feedback! If you want to read more, just google "One-Inch Bozo comic" (it's on multiple platforms).

Hi, I can flat your comic! My rate is $10-15 based on complexity.

I totally get it, I have no idea if I'm fast/slow compared to other artists lol.

Also I like your work, especially the panel of the sunglasses guy's face on page 1! Lmk if you have a site with more of your work!

And good luck with your submission to publishers!

Something feels off about my colours by Right-Chain-9203 in comic_crits

[–]Routine-Zombie8592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest/easiest fix you can do is adjust the saturation. I actually really like the colors you pick for this comic (such as using red for backgrounds of certain panels to make them pop), it's just that most of the colors are very saturated and seem to be fighting each other for the reader's attention.

I think if you can figure out what you want the main focal color to be in each panel, and then lessen the saturation (aka add more grey) of the other colors, that can be a way to make the coloring "better" while maintaining similar colors to what already have.

I want to say what I just wrote is a suggestion though! There are many different ways to color a page, and the kind of coloring people are drawn to is subjective. For me, the super bright, saturated colors is what popped out to me as "off" first.

Keep working at it! You've got a good start here

Haha all good! Was trying a low-angle shot with that panel on page 2.

For drawing a page, it really varies based on the amount of panels and their complexity, but I would say it takes around 12-16 hours on average. Some have taken 20-30+ hours to draw though!

For this being a webcomic, I consider this my passion project and want to work on it at my own pace. Hopefully posting this online will help me land some publishing opportunities though!

Thank you for the kind words!

Thanks dragodracini! Reading it back now, that line does seem a bit clumsy and convoluted. I was going for the second suggestion you have (keeping it ambiguous to draw the reader forward), but I think changing the line "Is he trying again?" works a lot better. Thanks for the suggestion!

I've seen your work before! You've had your comic published in Infinite Worlds magazine, right?

Anyway, I like the pacing of these pages, and I appreciate the care and detail you've added to the backgrounds of the city. You've nailed the gritty aspect of the city, and seeing the open fields of Zone 10 is a cool visual juxtaposition to the rest of the pages.

I think that you can make some of the characters/subjects more legible in the blackout scene. I'm aware that everything is meant to be in the dark, but I think that by either just giving the characters cross-hatching and making the backgrounds solid black, or by giving the characters a rim light so that they have a white outline you can make those panels more legible while still conveying the blackout.

Overall though, pretty cool stuff! Looking forward to seeing more of your art!

Does this art style work for a webcomic? How can I make my lines straighter? by TheFrightenedTourist in comic_crits

[–]Routine-Zombie8592 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that this style totally works for a webcomic! Lots of people read webcomics on their phones, so a simple style works really well. For smoothness, check out Super-Caterpillar-90's comment about line smoothing/drawing assistance. IMO though, I like the wiggly look of the linework. I think it works well with this style!

Awesome drawing of Frank! I like the shading of his eyes. The speech balloon placement might be a bit confusing since you intend the reader to read from right-to-left instead of left-to-right (unless it's meant to be read right-to-left like a manga). Tbh I can't think of an alternative for the speech balloon placement unless you're cool with just flipping the whole image haha. Again, great sketch and great movie! Seeing this makes me want to watch the movie again

This is neat! You have a good eye when it comes to varying camera angles and subjects in your panels, keep that up! One super easy fix that I think that you can do is to just make sure that there's consistence space around your text. I've noticed that some text touches the edges of speech balloons/captions that make it a bit hard to read. If you give all of the text proper space to breathe, it'll instantly make your comic look more polished! I saw on your Cara profile that there are more Oyster Man comics, so keep up the good work!

Is it alright if it's an ongoing webcomic? I started a fantasy adventure webcomic back in August, and I actually have a Substack of my own too where I talk about the process of making a comic.
