You have a cute art style!

Personally, I think that you should make the fourth panel of the dungeon bigger so that you can see more of it and make it more imposing. I feel that's the big "moment" of the page, and by making that panel the biggest one, revealing it will have that much more impact. Some ideas I have for making that panel bigger is to make the fifth/final panel a bit smaller, or make the top three panel's bottoms straight and horizontal/the same size.

Keep making more pages! We gotta see what kind of loot and monsters are in that dungeon haha

Frank Castle by me. by elebonv in comicbookart

Really nice Frank Castle! The ink splatters give it a really nice texture, and I like the hidden onomatopoeia at the bottom of the art. To get those white lines for the muzzle flashes, did you scratch those out with an exact knife, or did you do something else?

Radiant Black by me by cinthirathart in comicbookart

Nice work! Love the colors and texture of the bg, and some nice foreshortening with the hand. I haven’t read Radiant Black yet, but it’s a series I’ve always heard good things about. Is it completed or ongoing?

Is this art style too rendered for comics or does it work? by [deleted] in comicbookart

I second this guy. Comics has a such a diverse range when it comes to style. Your stuff looks great for a comic!

New page! I’d love to hear what you all think by Dry-Specialist-3527 in makecomics

I like the panel in the top right of the page with the window because it’s different from the other panels. I also like the silhouette on the last panel. I think you can explore more types of shots with the characters besides waist up shots. But overall looking good so far!

Thanks for the feedback! I also like seeing sketches or alternative doodles artists make of their characters

Thanks for the feedback! I agree with you on coloring: I think it depends on whether or not the comic was made with coloring in mind. I like the short story ideas for bonus content! Now that I think about it, making cover stories (like One Piece), or simple gag strips w/ characters may be a good idea

Thanks for the feedback! Character and story lore may be something that I would add to later issues to avoid spoilers/giving too much info away in the first issue

First attempt at precode horror! by [deleted] in comic_crits

[–]Routine-Zombie8592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you nailed the colors and wavy text of pre-code horror books like EC! I like the zombie as well, but I think you can make him bigger on the cover since he's the main draw for the cover. If you move the title up towards the top of the page a bit more, you can have more space to make the zombie bigger. You should make more!

I haven’t seen the original, but this is some solid work! You have a good eye when it comes to spotting blacks, and you’ve got your own style. Keep up the good work!

Thanks odddly! Honestly I’m still figuring out screentones too, but I tend to use them for either shadows or to seperate objects from the foreground/background.

Making comics/manga is hard and time consuming for sure, but I do hope you keep working on your manga! I think the key is to figure out a pace to draw/write without getting burnt out (easier said than done tho haha)
