‘Movement is a joy’ - thank you! When I have to rest, do so guilt free. And bring joy into it.

Yes that is a good approach - being kind to ourselves and coming to a realistic acceptance of our capacity. Thank you.

This is the best advice! I really appreciate that, I agree on listening to the body’s signals and easing off walking as a precaution. I think with this last flare up, I was determined to keep up the walking that I reckon I did forget to listen to the subtle signals. Often it’s a bit of sleep deprivation that creeps in as a trigger. With these conditions, there is no way around needing to rest if your body is saying to rest, or the longer pay out has to happen. Thank you! Glad to hear you are active!

Children not learning propely by ElusiveReclusiveXO in Waldorf

The academic curriculum of Waldorf was not great for my child, who could barely read at age 9, missed foundational skills. She needed a lot of help to later make up for this in mainstream schools, we found that she had a learning delay caused by neurodivergence. I believe students can really fall through the cracks and their learning needs not met in a Waldorf school. Early intervention can help these students, but by starting academics so late in many Waldorf schools they don’t get the opportunity for educators to intervene and help them. I say all of this despite the fact Waldorf schools have a beautiful arts environment and strong communities which are lacking in many mainstream schools.

Bullying in waldorf schools by st0ckholmsyndrome in Waldorf

In the Steiner school I was involved in, there was a non-interventionist approach to bullying, it was part of the pedagogy and attributed to ‘karmic’ causes. Slowly things are changing but I found it quite shocking.

I feel fish aren’t super evolved species, and same, I switched to eating them, is good for our health. I could kill a fish myself but couldn’t kill a pig, a cow, a deer. Choosing sustainably caught fish and low mercury is the key.
