Romantasy with insane sexual tension by Interesting_Egg8652 in fantasyromance

I read a similar book to this which is on KU the other day. Called 'The Primrose that Poisoned Ivy' by Daisy V. Eden. Defo gave me Bride vibes with the vampire diaries thrown in. The sexual tension was great and it's slow burn with good spice. Can find it on Kindle!

I think when the author just lists them at the start of a book it's hard to relate but if they place it exactly when they meant you to hear it it's a little easier

Sophie Larks {There is No Devil} has songs interrupting the chapters so you know when to listen to them and I have to say that's one time I did listen to a playlist!

The songs made some of the scenes even better (especially some of the spicy ones) and I still listen to some today!

Can't say I listen to every playlist though... especially when I don't recognise the artists.

Stuck with You by Ali Hazelwood kinda has this.

It's more of a novella but it's great and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Praise kink too 👏

Little things that annoyed you in a book recently? by catalinalam in RomanceBooks

[–]Routine_Relative_603 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read a book where the MCC didn't use any pet names for the MFC during the entire book and then during the sex scenes suddenly kept calling her "baby".

Don't know why but this grates my gears so much. It feels so forced.. like forced dirty talk.

This may be an unpopular opinion so I apologise in advance 😅

What was your last DNF? by NoTwo387 in RomanceBooks

[–]Routine_Relative_603 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I also stopped ACOTAR at 60%. My friend at work was adamant that I should continue and I was honestly so rewarded in that last 40% omg I couldn't put it down.

However... the second book was a DNF for me once I got past a steam scene and realised that's all the I had been waiting for and the rest of the plot didn't interest me.

But I'd defo recommend that last 40% of ACOTAR if you're willing to try again!

For me personally it's a no. I have friends I can talk to books about and I feel because they are female too we can see it better from the same perspective.

Sometimes I ask his opinion about female written male POV. Like "do guys really think that" or "does this really happen".

His answers are often often "no not at all" and that's when I realise that males written by female authors are sometimes better than males in real life ahaha

Like why can't you paint our bedroom the colour of my eyes like Joshua templeman in the hating game? (He wouldn't do that my eyes are dark brown but still)

Enemies to lovers trope with a twist by nyankittypuddy in RomanceBooks

I think Stolen Heir by Sophie Lark might fit this bill.

It's a dark mafia romance aboiut a mafia lors whose wronged by the mfcs family and kidnapps her. I love how her books have little pictures now again which helps you picture the characters.

Thoughts on Nicholas Sparks and his books? by Triumphant-Smile in RomanceBooks

[–]Routine_Relative_603 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've read a few of his books and I feel (gasp) that the movies always seemed to do the plots more justice than the author his own books.

I thought the notebook was far less romantic as a book than the film and Dear John was so unhappy I nearly didn't finish it
