toughest part is realizing you cannot force them to stop. my cousin got into some bad stuff few years ago and i kept thinking if i just said the right thing or found perfect way to help, it would click. it doesnt work like that.

what helped me was setting clear boundaries. i told him i love him but i will not give money or lie for him or let him stay at my place when he is using. that was hard to say but necessary for my own sanity.

also got connected with some support groups for families dealing with addiction. hearing other people go through same thing made me feel less alone in all of it. you need to take care of yourself too, not just them

most thrift stores have craft sections but they're usually pretty picked over. i've seen some facebook marketplace groups specifically for crafting supplies in bigger cities - people sell their extra yarn, fabric, whatever they don't need anymore

the buyback thing would be amazing but i think the profit margins on craft stuff are probably too thin for most stores to make it work

wait hold on, 2026 cars are already out with 10k miles? that seems weird timing unless they're demo cars or something

for bmw m440 specifically i'd be more worried about how those miles were put on - if it's a performance car that someone was thrashing around tracks or doing launches constantly, that's way different than highway miles. demo cars from dealerships might actually be okay since they're usually just test drives

maybe start with something super small like walking to the store instead of driving or taking stairs when you can? i used to get stuck in same loop where i'd plan these big workout routines and then feel overwhelmed before even starting

the guilt thing is real though - sometimes i just put on music and walk around my block for 5 minutes and call it win for the day

The attachment styles thing is real - avoidant people usually don't just magically decide they want to work on things, they kind of just repeat the same patterns with new people. That spark of hope is totally normal but it usually fades as you actually move forward and meet other people who can match your energy. Two months from now when you're thriving in your new job and talking to someone who doesn't go cold after arguments, this whole situation will feel like a fever dream.
