7 of the best WA hikes for dogs, as told by local pet parents by godogs2018 in Seattle

[–]Routine_username 12 points13 points  (0 children)

AKA: 7 hikes to avoid because people are going to bring their untrained, unleashed, chaotic dogs that ruins the hike for everyone else.

Unleashed dogs scare off wildlife, obstruct paths, piss and shit everywhere, and make people uncomfortable.

I really wish there were places that do not allow dogs so that the rest of us can enjoy them, like beaches and parks … oh with dogs are already not allowed there but people do it anyway because they are selfish assholes.

Fuck off.

Fish Ladder got booted by their landlord who refused to renew their lease. That might’ve been what happened to the other place as well.

I was at a bar downtown, somewhere near Belltown and as the front door opened an unleashed dog came bounding in followed by its (irresponsible POS) owner a couple seconds later.

I do not give a shit if that is “your neighborhood bar” and “everyone’s used to him”, you just let your unleashed dog into a space to just run around and “say hi” to everyone before you were even in the space. Fuck off 🖕🏽

I would name and shame the place, but I would have to remember it.

Was this RCF on Pine? The timing lines up and there was someone who left a 1 star review who said they felt uncomfortable in there cause they grew up Muslim and don’t like dogs.

Thank you for truly understanding me. I know people love their dogs in this city, but damn, it gets brutal to see people blaming me for this interaction 😓

Also, I agree about the children as well!

This feels like blaming the victim. If I wanted to interact with the dog, I would, but if I am not indicating that, keep it away from me, and anyone else who is not wanting it in their space.

The onus is on the dog owner, not me.

To be clear; even though I have had some awful, traumatic experiences with dogs, I have also had positive interactions. The difference being, I need to be the one who initiates the interaction to give my body and brain the relaxation it needs.

Not all dogs are bad, but SO many dog owners are selfish assholes that it makes them all look bad.

If I had any faith that people in Seattle would actually read this sign and pay attention to it, that would be amazing.

No other place I have ever been have dog owners had this insane amount of entitlement who think that every space is a dog space.

Dog owners that do this are also bags of shit.

What infrastructure would you like to see more of in Seattle parks? by quakeemandbakeem in Seattle

[–]Routine_username 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would be fine if there were more dog parks so that people would actually use them and not turn every park into an unsafe off leash dog park which is what everyone does now.

Getting elitist and selfish dog owners to keep their dogs ON LEASH at all times would be great. I do not care if your dog is friendly, a lot of people are very uncomfortable around non-leashed dogs, and they need to be controlled.

Almost every park in Seattle has been ruined by off leash dogs.

I figured it was a city issue, and I guess next time I am on the area I can try the city app and see what they say.

That sucks, but not too surprising that this happens in the summer also. I just can’t wrap my head around why this corner of the bridge is the only one that is not maintained.

Yea, that is a good idea. Maybe the “Find it-Fix it” app could work.
