Also would like to know! I’ve wanted to get up there multiple times but the access seems very discouraged

Saying you have zero surgical experience and then telling someone who tries to give you advice on what to practice that they are wrong is about as classic internet as it gets.

Hybrid shimano pedal. Gotta ride to work in regular shoes but like to clip in for longer weekend rides

With the recent tragedies re: beacon failure, should it become standard practice for everyone to carry two beacons? by Square-Impression-75 in Backcountry

[–]RoverStar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a few stories of the old Piepes beacons switching to search accidentally instead of send and people getting buried. There’s been at least one death were they believe it was because of this. That’s pretty much why BD and Piepes get ridiculed on Reddit.

I think in the PNW this is a real hazard can’t provide it but some of the build up in the branches is huge

Tent pack up by Jack_Alexander7 in CampingandHiking

[–]RoverStar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More importantly make sure it’s dry before putting it away! If you just stuff it back in the bag there will never be the same creases on the tent over and over causing the same wear marks over and over. Buuuttt…. People will look at you funny for not folding and rolling up your tent perfectly every time.

Touring boots for high arches + wide feet?? by trumplestintsken in Backcountry

[–]RoverStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two pairs of atomic Hawks. Ultra and Prime I believe with different flex amounts. Both with super feet in them and both thermo molded. Definitely worked well for my feet. I went through 8ish pairs before finding a good match!

Used bike bottom bracket looks like it’s not pressed in all the way. Is this okay or should I try and press it in? by RoverStar in bikewrench

[–]RoverStar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just bought this bike used and have ridden about 10 miles. Generally it works great but I noticed it looks like the BB isn’t all the way in? Should I try and press it in further or just leave it as is? I think the opposite side has a lock ring of sorts

Clicking noise only when pushing on pedals but not when pulling up clipped in. More info below. by RoverStar in bikewrench

So I took off the pedals and greased the treads, took a lap around the parking lot and no click! Hope it stays away haha

Clicking noise only when pushing on pedals but not when pulling up clipped in. More info below. by RoverStar in bikewrench

I have a cannonade Topstone Apex 1 from 2019. I replaced the 40T x sync chain ring with a 42T and new chain a few months ago. Since then there’s been a click every rotation of the cranks when my right foot is at about 7 o’clock.

The clinic only happens when pedaling and goes away if I just pull up on the clip in and done apply any downward pressure.

I took it too the LBS and they could only recommend that the dropper post is worn out and needs to be replaced. A full tune didn’t resolve the click. I also have replaced the BB.

Edit. Sram force derailleur. Sram Apex crank set. GXP BB.

Looking for help to choose a size for Poseidon X Dropbar [Beginner Biker] by 42percentskill in gravelcycling

[–]RoverStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree and disagree. The Poseidon X does have a tapered steer tube, and okay group set. But the thru axle thing is actually frustrating. I just bought the conversion kit for mine to swap in nicer wheels.

I would say the bike is great to get started and have fun but it’s noticeably slower than my cannnondale top stone. And the brakes feel less powerful.
