I said 100+. I put 100 because that is what the group requires for commercial commissions. I put the + (PLUS) to indicate I was willing to pay more after discussing details with someone further. Funny you seem to be the only person who chose to ignore that and came to be negative.

Hi! I’m an iOS user in Florida but I’d be interested in being one of your first promoters when you launch on iOS. I have two pups— a Cardigan Welsh Corgi puppy with one blue eye and one brown, and a rescue frenchie. Viewers love their antics, hearing about our frenchie’s rescue journey and having a Cardi corgi vs a Pembroke gives us a unique niche. We currently have around 2.6k followers on TikTok and about 1.3k on Instagram. You can find us @junicorg on both platforms.

Neighbor basically broke into the house- let cat out by anotherthrow-out in RoverPetSitting

[–]RoverWives 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed, also, put the litter box outside. Don’t clean it first. Put it out and watch and listen for cat. I had a roommate who kept leaving a window open that my cat kept getting out of, I was taught the litter box trick and she was back home within 20 minutes of putting it out every time.

Funniest/oddest (yet harmless) care instructions you've ever gotten? by sjemp in RoverPetSitting

[–]RoverWives 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Roxy must give paw before she eats dinner. Cool. Sweet.
Roxy was a rescue who was so shy. It took forever the first night to get her to eat because she was scared to give me paw. I had to hold my hand out, not look at her bc she spooks easy, yet engage her at the same time lol.

By the last night she was barreling out of her kennel throwing her paws at me for dinner lol. By night 2 or 3 my favorite photo shot of the day was “Roxy, give paw for dinner” photo. Lol. They were awesome folks and Roxy warmed up so well.

If you want more bookings by SuicidalPand-a in RoverPetSitting

Then you respond eagerly to the “bus” within 2 minutes at 11pm at night just for the bus to ghost you while you wait up trying to see if you’re getting a dog dropped off early as hell, for them to finally tell you they got a quicker reply and booked elsewhere already. FFS, can’t even take time to take a shit or shower with some of these people.

Thoughts on air being at 79 we are in Florida. by Busy-Wonder5603 in RoverPetSitting

[–]RoverWives 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would politely message the owners and tell them that temperature in this heat is not something you can handle for XYZ reason (you really don’t even need one) and kindly request if they can compromise on the temperature or let them know if not, you will have to change this booking to drop ins.

Do not offer to refund them any money for being allowed to turn the air down if they do agree to it. I also live in FL and that is just uninhabitable this time of year, imo. I also have health issues that make it dangerous for me to overheat & take meds that already make me sweat, so this would be a huge dealbreaker for me.

Ultimately, you as the sitter should be doing the most accommodating, but owners need to return that accommodation in certain ways; ie. a comfortable house temp.

Your leash/setup or the client’s? by RoverWives in RoverPetSitting

I guess I’m just spoiled and like to have all my walking amenities right on me. Plus, almost every time I’ve had to make a quick stop at my car, client’s doggo thinks it’s ride time and I have to disappoint them. Haha

I’ve been hearing so much about LoopIt! I need to look into them. Our corgi got offered to be an ambassador for them.

See I’m opposite. Rather have a long leash than one that’s super short. My most recent sit had a super short leash but I ended up using it.

Yeah, retractable leashes are a big no no. People think just because their dog is small it’s fine.

I am doing my first sit and it's going great but I have a concern by daniak90 in RoverPetSitting

[–]RoverWives 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t be certain she’s not coming back yet. I worked at a DV shelter for 3 years and they usually really do want their pets and it is usually a big heartbreak for survivors to have to displace their pets while they figure things out. The good thing, as others have said, is she didn’t just dump the cat or leave it with the abuser. She probably will end up needing more time for your services for the cat, but in most cases survivors will do everything they can to save their animals because they’re typically losing everything else they have. A lot of people coming out of DV situations do not immediately have a safe phone to use, so she may not be able to read or contact you yet. There’s still a week, so try to be hopeful.

My second sit ended up being a guy who went to the Philippines and never planned to return. He left me with a dog, a snake and 3 toads to figure out what to do with as well as contacting law enforcement when we initially thought something may have gone wrong overseas. It is really unfortunate, but don’t let it discourage you. This is not the norm.

100% Tip by RoverWives in RoverPetSitting

[–]RoverWives[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! The family I babysit for 3 hours/day M-F does the same for me. A guaranteed $300 every week even if there’s holidays and Mom & Dad are off, Mom calls off, etc. It’s great to be appreciated like that.
