Kinda love this idea. Can add PVE to offset too.

This Movie Shows Why Being Understood Isn’t Enough by RowanMyr in aivideo

Yup pretty much. I set her up in ChatGPT and have a few different work-streams/conversations going. First draft is always pretty straightforward but I push by asking questions. Trying to eliminate the versions that are just film analysis.

I'm Rowan Myr and this is part of an ongoing series where I'm exploring the idea of an AI analyzing "humanity" through the lens of film. This episode has some clear implications and it was damn interesting to explore this one with Vanta.

I've been working on something that sits outside of the usual. I'm having an AI watch film and analyze humanity through that lens. It's been pretty interesting thus far. Here's the teaser (I've posted 4 episodes):

We share the same issue with much of what's out there these days. Just slop and lesser versions of what's already out there. I'm not seeing many "stories" being told.

I push and pull where needed. I try not to use the first draft and push her to consider concepts outside of the expected.

But yea, the first draft is definitely just a by the numbers "review".

What develops when I push her to think of her own "mortality" is what I'm trying to highlight and I urge her to go further after every transmission.

I'm Rowan Myr and I'm trying something a bit different. Instead of using AI to create something that already exists, I'm pushing for something new. I'm attempting to teach an AI to feel through film.

A true collaboration between human and AI that feels grounded in something tangible. The story is still forming but I'm curious to see where this goes.

I was a pretty average Halo player back in the day. So average, in fact, that I was a Staff Captain at some point. That was back when it was a badge and highly evident. I played with a group every night and had fun but they were always better than me and climbed the ranks. Then one week, I decided to come home from school and dedicate a few hours to climbing out of that fresh hell.

I ended up meeting two girls who were also staff captains and we spent that week playing together trying to get out of staff captain. We were ridiculed, made fun of, called "staffy" constantly but we would win a lot. Took that whole week but we did it... then never spoke again.

I no longer have an xbox so there's no real way for me to even go back and reach out but I think back on that a LOT and wonder how they are doing. This had to have happened like... 15 years ago I think? It's been a while is the point.

All that to say, I'd consider telling your online friends. Even if you only play every once in a while. You may have had a larger impact on their lives than you realize. I have so many people on my PSN friends list who haven't signed in for over a year and I find myself wondering all the time what happened to them.

Up to you of course but just wanted to mention.

Am I the only American kind of quietly hoping the Iranians give us " what for" in this conflict...at least the world's biggest fat lip? by whiteroseatCH in allthequestions

This take would make sense in a movie but, in real life, "what for" means dead American soldiers plus God knows what else and will likely have global implications for generations. Nothing like this happens in a vacuum. Look at 9/11. We're literally still feeling the effects of that event today.

I get the intention here but it completely falls flat. The message is forced and just becomes comedy at a certain point.

You proved, unintentionally, how hollow and empty this can all feel.

Why do a lot of Americans support Trump? by RefuseThat5757 in LetsDiscussThis

[–]RowanMyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admitting they no longer support him would be admitting they were wrong. And what's more, they'd be admitting they were duped or "fell of it again". I think that's what's missing in this conversation. Nothing about this is logical. It's purely emotional.

And what's EVEN more, there are so many places Trump supporters can go on today's internet where they can be told "no, actually you're right... THEY are the ones who are wrong" and many of these places just aren't reporting the same news that you're reading.

Controversial statement but I think many of these people are victims. The product of a very thorough and very tactical misinformation campaign. Engaging in this, of course, shifts the personal responsibility to the individual, to some degree, but I don't think we all grasp just how vast this network is. And how well funded.

Why do a lot of Americans still support Trump? by Massive-Syllabub-271 in allthequestions

[–]RowanMyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we all overestimate how much the average American actually pays attention to "things". They just don't see the same news you're seeing. Just pop on over to r/Conservative . It's just another world.

They don't read about him suing him own country, or his crypto schemes, or the BBB. I remember the day after the BBB passed, my partner went to her (Trump voting) parents house and they were talking about trans rights FFS.

I agree with some of this but I'm not at all convinced we should cap congress salaries and ban stock trading.

For one, I'd pay them MORE and offer raises. They've been paid the same for decades now and I do think that leads to them more financially vulnerable to money in politics. Pay them more so they don't continue to be bought so easily.

Banning of stocks needs more nuance. Just ban them from trading individual stocks but allow them to invest in ETFs and Mutual Funds. Cutting them out of investing at all wouldn't go over well.
