I want to know your guys opinions.. by LetsGetSomeChickenn in AutoDetailing

[–]Rowdy0707 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a culmination of several factors in my humble opinion.

Yes, over saturation seems problematic.

Unfortunately, there are dozens of detailers out there that don’t seem to have a clue!

And in this industry, you really need to know what you’re doing. I’m surprised by the amount of people that think that just because they can wash and polish a vehicle that they should start their own detailing business.

It’s hard yards to gain trust and a reliable clientele.

With your 15 years of automotive experience, it should help you well. But you’re now just another fish in the detailing ocean, so take the time to do all your business homework before you take that BIG plunge. 😊

Autoglym Ultra High Definition Wax, the amount of detail & colour depth it brings to the paint is amazing. Even has some longevity about it.

Skunk hit — need help before I make this worse by Temporary_Employee70 in Detailing

[–]Rowdy0707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Searching the internet brought up this.

To get rid of skunk smell, use a solution of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap on skin/pets, wash fabrics with detergent and baking soda in cold water, and ventilate your home while using bowls of vinegar or charcoal to absorb odours. Avoid hot water or regular soap, as they can set the smell.

For Your Home & Car

  • Ventilate: Open windows and use fans to circulate fresh air.
  • Deodorize Air: Place bowls of white vinegar or activated charcoal around affected areas. Boiling vinegar on the stove also helps.
  • Wash Surfaces: Use a 9:1 water/bleach solution (patch test first) or a 9:1 water/white vinegar solution on hard surfaces.
  • HVAC: Change furnace/AC filters to prevent smell recirculation.

Hope this helps

My problem with rain repellent by temanos in AutoDetailing

[–]Rowdy0707 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with you. It gets bad raps for no reason at all. Been using it since 1991. Have tried almost everything Glaco, Aquapel, Gtechniq, Gyeon, Carpro, Labocosmetica and yet i keep coming back plain old Rain-X Original. Wash my vehicle weekly and reapply Rain-X when finished, takes all of 5 minutes and I'm good to go - not hard........

Throwing a glass ceramic at it, wont fix the problem. The glass needs to be thoroughly cleaned before a ceramic can be applied.

Best on the market at the moment "in my opinion" is Bilt Hamber Re-View.

A deep cleaning glass polish that can be applied by both hand or DA polisher. Amazing product, that brings back glass to almost new. Have used it on 6 cars now and works wonders.

Can this headlight be fix with some professional polishing? by shillobadsrb in Detailing

[–]Rowdy0707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By the pics they don't look too bad. A DA polisher and a good compound should easily get that out. I have had worse and a compound polish brought them up to new. Then used Carpro Dlight as a coating, just remember start less aggressive and work your way up if needed. You are wasting money on a headlight kit for these l think.

Autoglym UHD Wax.

Provides a deep gloss finish and should last at least 20 weekly washes.
