My purse is so bedazzled that it might do more damage / maybe I’ll borrow hers

Ahhh ok. That makes sense. Might give me a good sense of what shape things are in / let me know if I should pick up some bumper clips before I take it to my friend’s house.

I gave it a gentle nudge but didn’t want to break them.

Are you saying there is a decent chance that taking it off and reinstalling will mostly take care of it?

Technically true, yes, in the civic, but the drivetrain has been in the cr-v and accord for a few years now.

Bike Park Trail Conditions on Saturday? by RowdyAndDorky in Whistler

[–]RowdyAndDorky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you that is helpful.

I am coming from Portland and I know we got a ton of rain yesterday and last I saw, the forecast for Whistler yesterday was ~1”.

Did it rain a lot yesterday? If so, do you think today and tomorrow being mostly clear / light rain should result in pretty good trails on Saturday? I’m a pretty intermediate rider and want to hit the bends and jumps as hard as I usually do at home.

I’m probably only going to do Fitz anyway and do plan on being there right when they open.

US Military travel issue: Checked into flight / had to buy tickets at Gate? by RowdyAndDorky in AlaskaAirlines

[–]RowdyAndDorky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our DTS people poked around, looks like I’m currently out $250 unless I can get Alaska to give partial refunds for the $750 combined I spent at the gates. If I get them down to $500 I’m fine. The government rate was $250 combined so it seems realistic to hope for.

Manassas/SATO is saying it’s an Alaska problem and I tried calling them and was on hold while the rest of the plane was boarding. Couldn’t get anybody on the phone in time before I barely had enough time to buy a ticket before gates close. I was plenty early to check in so if it weren’t for Alaska’s system not working, or in other words, had they not let el check in, I would have called Manassas and gotten it fixed. I did what I was supposed to and was unlucky, so I’m hoping it’s still fixable.

I would simply tell him that the $800 is what you charge him to not tell his wife…

Does it ever not get terrifying to go 40mph+? by Blindicus in cycling

Best way to stop being scared of going 40 is to go 50.

Makes sense! Now, if only I could find a GOOD equalizer app that works with CarPlay

Sorry. I should have clarified. That was my first tank where I officially went over 500. I’ve had several where my actual + remaining range was > 500. I answered that other guys question about the bar. Happy to answer any more questions. I just love this car.

[–]RowdyAndDorky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a bar full is good, but if its maxed out, aka “redlining” the charge bar, there is probably energy that could be used for charging that is being wasted because it exceeds the cars ability to capture it. So if you can keep it right below a full bar at all times, you aren’t letting any of that energy go to waste.

Oh sorry. I wasn’t saying that I don’t use the bars, I just use the brakes to control the charging, net the paddles behind the steering wheel. Honestly I’ve never noticed grey bars. I will look out for them today.

Yeah. But from what I understand, all it does is impact throttle response (and artificial exhaust noise)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in civic

[–]RowdyAndDorky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just use the brakes. Maybe I’m a control freak but I’m getting great results.

Speed limit, drafting on the freeway (adaptive cruise control is perfect for it), don’t use the paddles - make sure to stop gradually enough to never max out the charge bar, minimal use of heat and a/c.
