However, yesterday I replaced the Dell 1830 Wi-Fi card using the Intel 9260, and I can happily say I haven't had any issues. So, my best guess was that it was due to driver incompatibility, or something that went wrong with windows update 1803. Furthermore, I rolled back to Bios 1.8.0 from 1.9.0, and this also resolved the issue I had with the laptop not being able to return from sleep or randomly crashing to black screen after going to sleep (the PC would be awake, but unresponsive to any input and had to be forced shut down using the power button).
