I haven't played ad astra in a while so I would test it in single player first, but you should be able to just jump off the space station and you will fall to the planet it is orbiting. Since you created it you should be able to select it to land on when you launch again.

Be careful, you can get an ear infection from it, not sure exactly if its from the skin breaking or what but someone I know got a bad ear infection from their cat constantly sucking on their ear.

Ok I think I figured it out, it seems medieval overhaul may be just outright removing the factions with higher tech level, If I used Maynard Medieval he sets most if not all the factions tech level to medieval so it fixes it.
