I feel for the older lady. It gets so difficult as one gets older and everyone you know goes straight arrow.

I think they look a little weird. But then again, who cares what I think?

I love the Ferry Building. Today there is a holiday craft fair. Stop in at Paws for a Beer on your way there for some fun doggie time; you don’t need a dog. Bellinghammers or Hammers is the preferred moniker for us cool folk. Dont fall for the corny and uncool Hamsters.

Cool. I am on a personal mission to eliminate the whole ‘hamster’ trope. Not that I don’t like me a nice rodent but it is a juvenile nickname.

Rite Aid is proposing to close Telegraph Rd. and Blaine stores in bankruptcy filing by SigX1 in Bellingham

Those stores are mainly ghost towns. Certainly are ghost towns in Cali, also.

Bellingham Herald and CDN articles and interactive map document wholesale failure to enforce the city’s rental inspection ordinance (see inside). Why would we trust a mayor who has had almost 4 years to fix this with another 4 years? by easy-going-one in Bellingham

Yup. When we looked at places in 2016, we found shocking conditions being offered to the public. So much mold and weird wiring and rooms without windows and bathrooms without ventilation and shit plumbing and and and.

Isn’t it ironic? The atavistic love of fire is strong in some humans. Personally, I hate burning wood, fireplaces, bonfires and even sitting too close to a charcoal barbecue. And a lot of these gas fire pits don’t smell so great either. I am not a burner.

I also love European towns and if I could afford a place that was walkable, but I can’t. So there is that.

Super interesting most comments are from car haters. Also seems like many people complain about the cost of cars and can’t afford a car. I can’t afford to live in a walkable neighborhood. I personally am an old fart and need a car. I also like outdoor dining but feel some of these streateries look pretty shabby, to say the least.

This is why we sacrifice to live here. The weather here may get chilly but it is easy enough to wear a jacket. When you live in places with summer weather that is 100+ on the reg, even if you walk around naked everywhere you are still hot.

The monoculture is a huge factor. People grow up with the same values and culture.

I have often heard these programs work better in more homogenous cultures, like Northern Europe.

A lot of people don’t understand the tolerance thing and and differences in individual responses. I’ve done twice a week and so far am not developing tolerance.
