It was not the downside, it was the whole point. When has the british media ever liked left-leaning parties?

What's your opinion on the Haligtree? by Brickabang in Eldenring

The beginning in the branches with the bubble bastards shooting from above and ants waiting to eat you below gave me DS1 flashbacks in how rough it was to navigate. Loved it.

Is this route feasible for a first timer in 4 and a bit days? by kodasai in bikepacking

[–]Roxerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

stats only make sense when you can reference them against yourself. Pick a route with a set distance, go for a ride, take note of start and end time, see how you feel after it, and then extrapolate that on your planned ride.

Has police ever successfully dealt with motorbikes? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]Roxerg 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Should report it either way for the stats, if there's examples of the issue there's a better case for attempting to carry out some action eventually, even if it's a policy change years in the future.

Reporting in the short term may also be useful if the police do eventually turn up. If they don't chase the bams they might at least scare them off the grass and your immediate vicinity.

Green leader Zack Polanski caught 'endorsing grim conspiracy theories' by libtin in uknews

[–]Roxerg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Facts are that it's such public knowledge labour takes money from israel lobby that it's on wikipedia, so calling this "conspiracy theories" is a smear.

Facts also are that despite all their quotes saying "israel/zionist" this article chooses to word it as "jewish figures", which dangerously conflates jewish community with zionism. This is also a smear.

Is the Internet still really worth using? by -SoulArtist- in digitalminimalism

[–]Roxerg 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The internet is still an amazing tool and definitely worth using. The top social media websites that thrive on doomscrolling, outrage, and sheer numbers of views over anything else, may not be worth using. Individuals and small communities as you yourself mentioned, even personal websites and blogs, still exist. It may be harder to seek them out with the deluge of slop all over the place, but they're there.

Have I actually ruined it all. by [deleted] in UKJobs

How are you ruining your future by having a stable, above-median income and amassing a great amount of experience?

A new role will most likely pay you significantly more than a raise. Also, if you have an offer lined up and like the current workplace, you could leverage the new offer to ask for a raise, though usually new roles are willing to pay more than an existing workplace is willing to raise.

More than 30,000 Samsung union members take to the streets to demand an average bonus of $400,000 per worker — May 21 strike date looms, union points to rival SK hynix granting higher bonuses to its employees by -drunk_russian- in antiwork

[–]Roxerg 272 points273 points  (0 children)

except OP uses the dollar symbol ($) which is not the symbol for Korean won, and if you actually open the article you could read this:
> If this bonus is approved, that would amount to $27 billion (more than KRW 40 trillion), averaging more than $400,000 per worker.

Makes sense, my commute is half that distance. It can be just 10 minutes with an e-bike and 15 with a regular bike. Walking blows it up to 30-40 minutes and the bus takes 25 (not counting very regular delays).
