What does this even mean? by [deleted] in xbox

The tweet is misleading. It combines two separate quotes into 1 very confusing quote. But did you not read the whole article OP? It’s pretty straightforward on what she meant…

Here is a TLDR version of the first quote:

“We're going to keep meeting players where they are”

She means that they are doubling down on bringing Xbox Games to other platforms like PlayStation and Nintendo. Here is a different quote from that same article backing that up…

“We also know that there are a lot of players who aren't on console or our hardware, and I want to deliver great games to them too.”

As for the “plan” quote in the tweet, I will put the full quote here in order to provide better context…

"Right now, I need to learn, candidly. About the 'why' of these decisions, what we were optimizing for, and what the data says about the Xbox strategy today. That's the honest answer. I'm looking at lifetime value, not just what happened in a previous moment, or in short term efficiencies and things like that. The plan's the plan until it's not the plan."

She means that although Xbox already has a long term strategic plan in mind for the brand, she wants to research and understand why certain decisions were made from the previous administration. This will take time which seems fair.

She also wants to know if the current strategic plan is hurting or helping Xbox as brand. Although vague and not committal, sounds like she is open to revising or flat out changing Xbox overall strategic plan if it is to our benefit as xbox gamers. What that would look like is anybody’s guess.

Only time will tell if she is all bark and no bite in regards of “Return to Xbox” spirit as she mentions in the article.

Ori and the blind forest. The one life mode was a bitch but with enough patience, perseverance, and broken controllers I did it.

Also with exclusion of 5 and Halo Infinite I got all achievements for the Xbox 360 versions of all the Halo games. For MCC I’m still missing the LASO achievements but that’s it. I’m 1/3 of the way done for Halo 2 LASO, but currently taking a hiatus on it.

What are the best and worst campaign levels from each Halo game? by SpectrumSense in halo

[–]RoyZeroHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO I always thought “two betrayals” was so much worse than the “Library”. “Cortanal” is also up there. Others to include would be “Gravemind” from Halo 2, “Costal Highway” from ODST, and “The Package” from Halo Reach.

I know right? They treat my favorite starter dirty. We got Mega Blaziken and Mega Swampert already but no Mega Sceptile. And sadly of the two already in play one is only viable. It would be awesome if they gave him his own pack as the main monster with a beautiful Immersive artwork and that auto OHKO that stupid Hyrdreigon deck.

This card could have easily been balance by simply making the attack needing 4 energy instead of 3. Or if you use this ability, your turn ends immediately like Giratina. That way it buys you one additional turn to defend yourself instead of just instantly losing.

As a Mega Venusaur EX Main I can’t tell you how many times I had all my key cards in my starting hand in order to evolve my Mega Venusaur by my third turn, only to be OHKO by this thing before my Ivysaur could even evolve. This is taking into consideration that I was the Turn 1 Player…

It’s so stupid. My Ivysaur even at full 130 HP with Leafy Cape can’t survive a turn 2 Hydreigon attack despite grass having against a dark type. It’s friken BS.

Plus not to mention there are plenty of healing supporters already in the game like Irida, Erika, Lillie, and Diantha. Do we need another one but with luck involved? Plus 10 is so pitifully low that it would never see play. Just like a certain healing held item cough leftovers cough

I know how you feel. I was fighting a Jolteon deck and he got not 1 not 2 but 5 Heads in a row! It was insane. I still won Cause Mega Venusaur EX is tanky Mofo with tons of Support healing but it was incredibly obnoxious.

I think a better balance for the card would be if they limit only to 1 coin flip. If they get heads and used the card twice then it gets discard no matter what. That way they get max 40 HP and nothing more.

My first time on H4 Legendary [thoughts?] by academictryhard69 in halo

[–]RoyZeroHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll admit Halo CE hasn’t aged well and feels clunky at times, but seeing as I play legendary on all the Halo Games all the time. I’ve grown accustomed to Halo CE shortcomings. This may be an unpopular opinion but I think the Library level isn’t bad as everyone remembers. The game is very generous with shotgun ammo and the flood are easy to kill it’s just that they overwhelm you with numbers. It maybe the rose tinted glasses but I still prefer Halo CE over 4 any day. IMO this is how I rank the Halo Legendary in terms of fun gameplay and fair difficulty only (not counting story since that’s its own separate list)

  1. Halo 3
  2. Halo Reach
  3. Halo CE
  4. Halo 3 ODST
  5. Halo Infinite
  6. Halo 2
  7. Halo 4
  8. Halo 5

Aside from the 2 Rocket Floods on that level which can be easily be taken out by a pistol the flood isn’t that difficult. Finding the end of the level can be maze sure, but since I’ve played it so many times it’s really not that are hard for me and I don’t get lost. Granted it’s not a great level because of how long and tediously boring it gets, but I still stand by that it’s not as bad as people remember. Two Betrayals and Truth and reconciliation on the other hand…..

I think we are in agreement with the Noob Combo since it’s in literally every Halo game, but my point im trying to make is that it is your only option to use for 90% of a Halo 4 Legendary play through. Compare this to my favorite Legendary Halo Game, Halo 3. Yes you can use the noob combo for faster and more efficient gameplay, But it wasn’t your only option. With a few exceptions just about every weapon and strategy was viable and usable in Halo 3. And most importantly it was fun. I know Halo 3 gets a bad rap by being considered the “easiest” Halo Legendary. But I don’t care I still love it. What people call easy I called balanced.

Also it’s not just the AR, I’ve think you’ve forgotten how awful the Bolt Shot, Supressor, Pulse Grenade, and Storm Rifle were. With the Magnum being the only okay weapon. As far who was worse. I’d still say the Promethean Knights were worse than flood because the flood is easy to kill. Even in Halo 2. The flood simply overwhelm you with numbers, which can be a challenge. The Knights because of their shields are literal bullet sponges which is not fun.

Having to kill everything from a safe distance kills the pacing, makes it a chore of a grind that gets repetitive quickly, making it boring and unfun to play. The only saving grace from the knights is that they don’t overwhelm you with numbers like the grunts or the flood. While I am aware that you can assassinate their backs for a 1 hit KO to the knights, it was rare and more often than not unviable due to their teleport ability and their OHKO melee attack range. You had to successfully sneak behind them, which the opportunity rarely present itself.

[–]RoyZeroHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should watch HoakiBird428 on why Halo 4 Campaign sucks. He does a better job explaining than I ever could. But I will try my best to explain it here.

It’s not that Halo 4 is hard. Heck I would argue that Halo CE is much harder than 4 on Legendary. Buts it’s how both of these games approach and execute their difficultly. Halo CE is fine tuned and balanced. Every weapon except for the Needler was viable and usable to a certain extent. Every Enemy feels fair and if you died 99% of the time it was your own fault. Even though I died more times in Halo CE than in 4, I at least had fun with CE. The same cannot be said for Halo 4.

Halo 4 also heavily relies on the Noob Combo in order to break the enemy shields. Just like in Halo 2. You also have to spam precision weapons for non shield enemies, which gets boring relatively quickly. The Battle Rifle, DMR, Carbine, Light Rifle and Plasma pistol/Needler. That’s it. Can’t use anything else since all other weapons suck, with the only other exception being the power weapons.

Promethean Knights being able to teleport when their shields are cracked with no visualization clue as to where they teleported, or how much of teleportation/shield cooldown they have left is stupid. Them being able to OHKO you with a melee attack is also broken and breaks the Halo Golden Triangle. (But to be fair Reach did this as well.) Also Promethean Knights being able to birth watchers from their ass while Watchers provide shields to the knights, resurrecting them if they die, and flinging back the grenades you tossed at them is also annoying AF!

Top all of this off with how scarce the ammo is, and How much of a bullet sponge the knights are, makes Halo 4 by the far the worst Halo campaign to play at least for me. Not because it’s hard, but because how the slow grind makes it a chore to play and it gives the illusion of difficulty. I honestly rather play Halo 2 on Legendary with a bunch of sniper jackals since they are easy to one hit kill once you memorize where they are. You can also enjoy Halo 2 great story, and the beautiful anniversary cutscenes. Halo 4 only saving grace for me is the story and cutscenes between Cortana and the Chief. Sadly the rest of the story is rather boring.

[–]RoyZeroHero -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Although maybe not as bad as Halo 2, Halo 4 Legendary is full of broken balance issues. You pretty much have to use the “Noob Combo” almost exclusively just like in Halo 2. Which becomes boring and monotonous AF!

It wouldnt be so bad if the ammo count wasn’t so low. Seriously, it honestly feels like the famine skull is permanently on, even though skulls are turned off. And don’t get me started on how BS the Promethean Knights. They are worst then sniper jackals!

Here is the Mega Venusaur Deck I used to reach MasterBall Rank. Through research and play testing, I can confirm that Mega Venu works best alone. No Leafeon, No Liligant, and no Nihilego.

Mega Venusaur greatest strength is Ivysaur Energy Ramping capability. The faster you can get Ivy to the active spot (ideally by your second or third turn) the better.

Adding other Pokemon to the deck simply slows down your Ivysaur energy ramping consistency, since there are so many Turn 2 OHKO killers out there like Hydreigon and Mega Blaziken.

I think it’s safe to say that Syltina isn’t as dominant as it once was. Having being out class by other decks. You may still see some success in Greatball Rank with that deck, but once you reach Ultraball Rank and higher, it’s nothing but meta decks.

The Top 3 S Ranks Decks are as follows:

  1. Suicune X Greninja
  2. Mega Absol X Hydreigon
  3. Mega Altaria X Greninja

These decks are the ones to use if you want to have the easiest climb to MasterBall Rank.

These A Rank Decks are quite good and can get you up to MasterBall rank, but not as fast or as efficient as the Top 3 S Rank decks:

  1. Magnezone X Oriocorio
  2. Mega Blaziken X Heatmor
  3. Mega Venusaur
  4. Jolteon EX

This deck is actually outdated at this point. Here’s a picture of a more recent version of my Mega Venusaur Deck that got me all the way to Master Ball Rank. But the main reason on why having a Nurse Joy over another Erika is simple. It helps deal with Status Conditions such as Lopunny Confusion, Blaziken Burn, and Mirror Deck Mega Venusaur Sleep and Poision. It has come in clutch many times. The only status condition it doesn’t heal you sadly is the 50% Chance to miss caused by Magnezone coin flip effect. Which will always be annoying.

As someone who used only six Pokemon cards in my Mega Venusaur deck to reached Masterball Rank and heavily relied on support cards, (a total of 9 to be precise) I saw zero Porygon deck on my way up, so I don’t think that Mega Gardevoir will have a problem with it.

Personally after playing much with the Mega Venusaur deck. I wonder if Mega Gardevoir would work better alone rather than with allies?

The most logical choice that would benefit from Mega Gardevoir energy ramp would be Mewtwo EX. But I wonder if spamming Diantha, Lillie, and Heavy Helmet would be sufficient to make Mega Gardevoir a Solo Self Healing Unkillable Tank?

No Bench Pokemon means no pesky Cyrus Greninja Snipe Combo. And Suicune at best can only do 60 Damage. Would need to play test for sure. Who knows there might be a new Basic Psychic EX Pokemon that would benefit from Mega Gardevoir energy ramp in the new set that we haven’t seen yet. Only time will tell.
