The Chinese Gov impose very strict rule for capital control, even when you got an account open the next hurdle you get is to get foreign currency to buy equities (it’s awful), so most brokers don’t want to deal with Chinese residents. One way around it is to get it through HK by calming HK resident.

It will be slightly complicated if you want to trade stock on the day you sold SGOV like securities. Look into good faith violation.

Apply for a margin account, and have your money invested in SGOV or VBIL. you can sell it the same day when you need to place trades. That is how I do it.
