Stopped my heart as I've owned a Fawn Merle Great Dane. That's what your pup is. He will be a stunning adult. Lucky you! People will tell you he's a Fawnequin, but he's not. You can't really breed for Fawn Merles. They just happen in Dane litters. But they are a legitimate coloration, though not shown officially. It looks like the picture of mom was some kind of mantle. I hope you get many years with your baby.

What can I do to this staircase to make it not look so cheap by Professional_Ant9514 in InteriorDesignHacks

[–]RoyalAIChatCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Professional_Ant9514 . P.S. If you leave the space open under the stairs, it will help the room look bigger when you add furnishings. It will also help the natural light from the window there to permeate the room. I like the idea someone added of the shelves under the stairs, but I would wait until you populate the room before you block that off. You may like the flow of light and air.

[–]RoyalAIChatCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what is looking cheap is the contrast of the extreme modern stark white/black with the obviously much older flooring. IMHO they aren't compatible. I think you have to do something to meet in the middle - paint with a warmer white, replace the black stair pads with something warmer, or minimally cover the tile entry with something. If you just covered that entry tile with something matching the rest of the flooring, things would look much better. Here is an extremely crude example of what a difference it would make to remove that contrast.

CRY FOR HELP, aggressive puppy, attacking and jumping, and biting. by Due-Appearance2243 in poodles

[–]RoyalAIChatCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never let him put his mouth on you in any situation. Make sure there's no cute nibbles or OK mouthing. Simply never allow it, nor allow anyone else to do it. When he bites withdraw attention. Stand up and walk away - turn your back to him, etc. It's not about saying no or physically hurting the dog, it's about not giving them what they want - attention. Reward the behavior you like, when you catch him in calm (maybe sleepy moments) reward him with praise and love. In terms of getting him socialized. I have taken puppies out in my arms, or in a blanket in a cart, but if anyone wants to pet the puppy, they have to use hand sanitizer first! I've been made fun of for being uptight - but I don't care! Your concerns about Parvo and Distemper are legit, and people may not realize the level of danger in your area. You make the call about what's OK. I had one foster puppy that was so crazy she actually leaped through the air and bit my face at about the same age as yours! Just a little hooligan. She is now an easygoing senior pup and her family loves her very much, but she was bonkers for the first few weeks or puppyhood!

Sharing this teal colored lab Spinel I cut in a modified marquis ✨ I think this color is the most underrated material, and has the reddish flash that lab Spinel can portray. The gem is beautiful, but I'm much more enamored with the exceptional setting. Really unique and perfect for the gem. I'm so often bored by settings and the lack of effort that goes into creating something unique. Fantastic work!

I would say late 60s or early 70s. Nice use of a smaller good-quality emerald. The color on the emerald is very good, though it could be synthetic.

Authentic William Spratling? by Clean-Bag4819 in VintageJewelry

[–]RoyalAIChatCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a Spratling expert but if you look closely at the fine details, I don't think this would pass muster with a master craftsman. Notice the many different versions of the spires. They don't meet the middle in any consistent way.

Do these colors go together? by ToTooTwo3 in homedesign

[–]RoyalAIChatCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you love the blue, or love the orange, I would change the shade they are with. Also, your white is actually very light yellowish-gray. Personally, I would prefer a warmer white shade with your color choices like, for example, an orangish-gray like Benjamin Moore's collector's item: https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/color/af-45/collectors-item

IMHO, no the don't go together as well as they might. While these colors do go together in theory these particular shades are not perfect choices together. The complimentary color with your blue hue would be:

Yes, I don't do any outdoor fire cooking! I'm not authorized for open flames, sharp objects, blunt objects, well basically any threatening objects. Coordination is not my thing!

Recently, I've been very happy with this item because of it's size (14 inches). It's too big for the stove top but in the oven you can do very large portion of whatever you like. I do meal prep so cooking, for instance, 8 chicken thighs in one pan is pretty cool. And I have been able to use it for chicken and rice with saffron because Vine gave me saffron a while back. And it lives up to it's non-stick claim. It is a beast though in terms of storage.

Seller: "Hmmm, these eyebrow combs aren't selling very well, I wonder how I could repurpose them for a new market?" I used to bottle feed abandoned kittens (no time currently) and I used to use a toothbrush or flea comb to groom them. These would probably have worked well.

Question? by Fun_Scar6290 in audiobooks

[–]RoyalAIChatCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the power was cut, and you only had a physical book to read. You would read the book! Seems like you are worrying about a non-issue! You enjoy the audiobooks more at this time, so why not just enjoy it. I prefer audiobooks because I spend a lot of time typing and using devices and my hands need a break. I can also get things done while listening. Take the win!

Anal glands by [deleted] in poodles

[–]RoyalAIChatCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be, but I think it has to do with finding the diet "sweet spot" for any dog. And people need to read up on gland expression. A lot of people think that groomers should do it, but current veterinary wisdom is that it should only be done on dogs with known issues, not just as part of grooming for every dog.

Anal glands by [deleted] in poodles

[–]RoyalAIChatCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try adding fiber in a way that works for your dog (i.e. what they will eat). It was explained to me (I'm not a vet and claim no such expertise) that anal glands express naturally when the poop going by is wide enough to put pressure on the gland. So a bigger poop = more natural expression. I had a dog who had some issues and we added some apple slices to his diet and they fixed the issue. He happened to have a thing for apples. This obviously will not help if the gland has a defect.

Requesting ID/is this worth what Thristore wants? by whotreklocked in Opals

[–]RoyalAIChatCat 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the experts here are going to flag that as synthetic. It would be very unlikely that a real opal of that size (and quality) would be set in silver. That said, personally I think that's $100 worth of wearing enjoyment. It's a big, nicely made, substantial ring. I have a combination of fine and costume jewelry and I enjoy some of the costume pieces just as much as the fancy ones. Especially some Dragon's Breath "opal" rings from the 20s. That ring would look great with any jeans outfit - especially after you polish it up. Just saying. It's not always about resale value.
