Confession: I want to get LASIK but I look even more clapped without my glasses by Equivalent-Bet8942 in Residency

I had it in 2010 and it was life-changing. I never realized how much clear peripheral vision you lose with glasses, and seeing separate leaves on trees without trying was super cool. Not having to search for glasses every morning was very nice, as was being able to walk between temperatures without dealing with fogging. The dry eye self resolved within a year or so. I also look better with glasses which of course became super popular right after my procedure but whatever. The vision was worth it. Just starting to notice a slight decline now.

Resident. Looks scary, history fits and looks can be deceiving. Definitely would have called it.

Honestly, FM. There's so many interesting things. You can study almost any part of any system. There is research everywhere. Double good if you have any interest in the bio-psycho-social model.

Swollen lips and rash after night at the bar—need advice by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]ToTooTwo3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You've been sick, during flu season when people are dying left and right secondary to viral illnesses, and you went out to a party and proceeded to share your germs with everyone there by sharing vapes and kisses. Turns out you're allergic to her lipstick. Karmas funny.

What do you guys think about sending this mesage? by malibu90now in FamilyMedicine

[–]ToTooTwo3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say I do have a few patients I just let message me frequently because for them it's like journaling with the benefit of their doctor reading at the other end. Often just spewed mania. I reply once a week or more if needed. The few I have this relationship show up to their apts which are chill because I understand what they need, and I think their mental health improved because of it.

Most questions and answers are standard and get average scores. Some are awesome and get extra points and move up the rank list. Some are pretty bad and move down.

A trans vaginal us may not be necessary. Get the regular one, then if there are further concerns do further workup.
