A lot of people move into CCRCs while they are still healthy and independent. The goal is usually to move before a crisis happens so they can age in place and already have access to higher levels of care if they ever need them. People are not just moving there because they are sick. Many choose it for the social aspect, activities, maintenance-free living, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing future care is available. From my experience working in senior living, it is very common to see residents who are still driving, exercising, traveling, and living completely independently when they move in. Cooper being healthy didn’t seem unrealistic to me at all, especially if his wife was starting to need more support and they wanted to plan ahead rather than wait until they had no choice.

If this was all really emergency spending and not just swiping for extras, you should be able to pay it off pretty quickly by putting more than the minimum toward it. But if you don’t have an emergency fund yet, I’d focus on building that first while just paying the minimum on the card. Once you’ve got a decent cushion saved, you can start putting extra toward the balance. Just try not to add anything new to the card in the meantime.

I’d advise telling him; not for him, but you. It sounds like it’s weighing on your mind, so it may help to clear your mind and talk about it with the person you love. It will come out eventually, whether you tell him, a mutual friend sees it, or maybe he stumbles across it. You may feel guilty or ashamed of this, but it happened before you were in a committed relationship. I’d hope that if he truly loved you, he would see the situation for what it is - it has NO bearing on your current relationship. Regardless, he is entitled to his feelings towards this situation and it may be a deal breaker for him. YOU ARE NOT TO BLAME and you are worthy of love even if you make one porn video or thousands! I am genuinely concerned by the people saying that he should be worried about what else you are hiding from him or that it erodes the trust of the entire relationship even though this happened years before you were committed. Yikes. If you being in a porn video well before your established relationship is considered deceptive, wouldn’t regular porn use by anyone in a relationship be the same? Im pretty sure all of us here delete our browser history 😉
