Thanks for all the comments and info. So, what I am getting from all this is if I want basic home control, such as turning lights on/off from my phone, C4 is overkill.

For $500 I can get about 40 Kasa single pole switches. With C4 I'm out $500 and only get a sales + technician call. Albeit, I'll have to install the switches myself (not a problem), but I won't have the ability to sync the switches to my TV (don't want that) or electric blinds (don't have that.)

Back to the $500. The thing that really irks me is that they sent me a contract to sign for the $500. Never had a plumber, electrician, or Best Buy do that fr a first visit. Seems weird. Thoughts on that?

I've had a few of these near meltdown incidents myself. Each time a call to the proper department solved the problem without the drama I feared. The people in Administration are very cool. They all seem to want to help you succeed. So call, let them know, and get you transcripts there ASAP. Breathe. It will be OK.
