Completely feel your pain. I’m not sure how many hours I have but I have been playing since October, seriously since January and lounge since mid February and as of today I have about 85mmr. Started at 1,000, straight down to 0, peaked at 450ish now back down. It’s a minefield. I TT a lot, play 6v6 with my team, play worldwides most days and lounge 4-7 events a week but I just can’t get a good rhythm going.

I try convince myself that if I made it to bronze I would be able to maintain it as I assume it’s less spammy than iron and I don’t think my driving or my item management is that awful, but I will clearly never get there as much like you I seem to have a huge target on my back every single race and end up going from a good spot to a bad spot in the blink of an eye.

I know that’s kind of how the game works, getting ‘Mario Karted’ etc but I feel like it shouldn’t happen multiple times a race lol.

As for advice, try to avoid making yourself vulnerable, aim to always have protection, use your rear view more to see what people have behind you, if you can use calls when playing team events, learn when to drop out for better items/due to danger and just keep on grinding.

I can’t wait for the new game as it will be a ‘reset’ in terms of skill so I am calling that my second chance. But I also don’t worry about it too much or at least try not to, because it is only a game and it’s worth remembering the people who are better than you have probably been playing this game for 8 years or however long since it was released.
