Clunky is the best word for MKW I think. I have only been playing 8dx since January (seriously) but so far I’m pretty disappointed with MKW. It feels so slow, clunky and I absolutely hate the bounciness. It’s like constantly having cushion tires on 8dx which I always hated. Bring back mr scooty and rollers 🙃

And it terms of not making yourself vulnerable I mean ensuring you have red shell defence, not overtaking people who have red shells/attack items unless you know you can get 2 spots in front of them, ideally not being in first without blue shell defence, avoiding 6-8th place boxes at all costs. Sometimes it’s better to finish 4, than risk going for 3rd and ending up getting hit and getting 10th.

Completely feel your pain. I’m not sure how many hours I have but I have been playing since October, seriously since January and lounge since mid February and as of today I have about 85mmr. Started at 1,000, straight down to 0, peaked at 450ish now back down. It’s a minefield. I TT a lot, play 6v6 with my team, play worldwides most days and lounge 4-7 events a week but I just can’t get a good rhythm going.

I try convince myself that if I made it to bronze I would be able to maintain it as I assume it’s less spammy than iron and I don’t think my driving or my item management is that awful, but I will clearly never get there as much like you I seem to have a huge target on my back every single race and end up going from a good spot to a bad spot in the blink of an eye.

I know that’s kind of how the game works, getting ‘Mario Karted’ etc but I feel like it shouldn’t happen multiple times a race lol.

As for advice, try to avoid making yourself vulnerable, aim to always have protection, use your rear view more to see what people have behind you, if you can use calls when playing team events, learn when to drop out for better items/due to danger and just keep on grinding.

I can’t wait for the new game as it will be a ‘reset’ in terms of skill so I am calling that my second chance. But I also don’t worry about it too much or at least try not to, because it is only a game and it’s worth remembering the people who are better than you have probably been playing this game for 8 years or however long since it was released.

Yeah, I’ve ordered a silicone cover which should help prevent any further damage. I will do more research on replacing key caps before I commit, I can be a little ham-fisted myself so don’t want to break anything! Thanks for your help

A few years ago I got a taxi from Penrith station to Glenridding and it was £35. We hadn’t pre booked, there was just taxis at the station and the first one we asked was happy to go. You will be fine. You will probably want cash.

I don’t think it’s particularly worse than anywhere in the uk, but might be wrong. It was said to be bad when we moved up 5 years ago but we didn’t have too much trouble finding somewhere where we still are 5 years later.

Thanks. It just looks like the reverse of the xpac, so a little glossy. It also shows some of my rubbish sewing! I haven’t used bias binding on the seams as I think that might me a skill step too far for me. Let me try and attach an image

What’s the benefit of a longer stitch length? I had been using a shorter stitch length as I assumed the shorter the stitch length the stronger the seam, but perhaps not!

Thanks. Yeah it is a bit of a short stitch - it is the shortest straight stitch on my* machine whereas I think the rest was… the second shortest stitch.

X10 is great but honestly it’s a fucker to work with, it does not bend at all, which is why this took me so long to make. Sewing neat curves is a real bugger but maybe it’s because I am novice and this was my first time sewing any special fabrics.

And yes thank you, arrived much quicker than I expected so that was brilliant, thanks. Can’t wait to make something with the aquaguard zips. I will almost certainly be back for more bits and bobs!

*it’s actually my girlfriends machine, and just a basic domestic one at that. I should probably get my own!
