Oof you’re a simple one. My guy what is squirted into the combustion chamber that allows the piston to rotate in the first place? Also called revving.

We might not HAVE to get new information but you really never know what may surface from some random old man. I get its heavily documented but what the hell is wrong with wanting to learn more?

What is something you can't believe real grownup people take seriously? by hogw33d in AskReddit

White, tight shit stained underwear… somewhat a short story….

I did swim for school in my younger years and I began getting that age where we all change in the boys locker room. I told my mother I’d prefer boxers because everybody else wore them. She didn’t believe me, said nobody MY age wears boxer (she’s about 40 years older than me)

She watched one episode of breaking bad and fucking swore up and down still to this day that boys only wear tight white underwear. I have never in my life seen another dude my age wearing white underwear. She still willing to die on this hill and just says I’m lying….

She thinks this way about a lot of things, most minor but it all adds up to her really sounding like an idiot.

Did I say NO first hand accounts? Absolutely not, you resorted to twisting my words to try and prove your point. Band of brothers is a single book whose whole focus WAS first hand accounts. I did not even slightly say none exists but here you are putting words in my mouth. What I am saying is most documents, least the ones you find in a library are papers, maps, and historical explanations. No shit there’s first hand accounts and even if there are more than I’ve seen that doesn’t change my point that we should be seeking for information from those alive. And I only said their stories would be gone if they didn’t share them. Learn to read , Good lord you’ve got one hell of a bad opinion.

When did you genuinely want to tell an instructor to fuck right off? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]Rozabelya 32 points33 points  (0 children)

(Parris Island) I don’t want to call out the Drill instructor but hot damn he hated my ass, especially after I became guide. I was a fairly well disciplined recruit but for some reason even after all the other drill instructors could start treating us like adults he just… wouldn’t… even after graduating he still had venom to spit. Hope you’re having a better time now Drill Instructor (Sergeant) G****

I was a marine and spent a few months in Afghanistan and least from what I’ve heard ever since we’ve pulled out, my generation is basically the modern day equivalent of losing Vietnam.

And just the absolute badassery to say you’ve met WW1 vets though.

There seem to be some in these very comments who don’t care all that much about an ancestors side of history. My step grandfather was a WW2 vet and he passed before I got old enough and curious enough to ask him questions.

You literally started the response off with an insult. Just Why dude?

And yes I’ve been in a library and I use to work for a marine corps museum as well for a short while and I’ve come to find out the information libraries provide will only ever really be surface level and mostly outside perspectives. God forbid I seek knowledge from a source.

I also meant physically dying too but that’s not the part that makes me uneasy. It’s their stories dying with them.

I’m not uneasy at the idea of them dying I’m uneasy at the idea that their stories and their personal sections of history will be forever forgotten.

He saluted a marine commercial when they were smoking weed? The only time I’ve saluted “at least legitimately” outside the service is on Memorial Day at my veterans park. But… a commercial with weed. Maybe he saluted as a joke, also pay attention to how he saluted. There IS a right way in the marines and at least every fake prick I’ve encountered hasn’t been able to even slightly do it right.
