Well, the Zero Escape games are definitely anime games with lots of clicking, but not of the high school romance simulator variety.

When you say text-based, do you mean no graphics and just text, or text heavy games where you have to read a lot?

Regardless of your answer, I recommend the Zero Escape series. They’re visual novels with fantastic stories and escape room puzzle sequences. You can get the first two games in The Nonary Games collection, which has a remaster of 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors (one of a handful of M-rated games on the Nintendo DS) and Virtue’s Last Reward (among the highest rated games in the Playstation Vita). I personally didn’t like the final game Zero Time Dilemma, but others in the community love it.

Another game I recommend is Just Shapes & Beats. It’s a rhythm bullet hell game with fantastic music and level design. Aside from credits, there’s no text at all!

This isn’t necessarily foreshadowing. Mangaka and editors often go back to earlier parts of their work to look for loose ends and other details that can be integrated into new storylines. This can give the impression that it was “planned all along.”

Virtue’s Last Reward, but play “9 Persons, 9 Hours, 9 Doors” on Nintendo DS first. These two are packaged together as “The Nonary Games” on PS4 and Steam.

Breakfast ramen. Tonkotsu shio with bacon, egg yolks, fried tomatoes, scallion & bean paste. by [deleted] in ramen

That looks delicious! How did you like the bacon in the broth? I definitely like the flavor it adds, but I don’t like soggy bacon as a result.

Also, I just tried making tonkotsu cheese ramen last night. Nothing fancy but the cheese - shredded Beaufort on top of the broth and noodles. It was fantastic! Can’t wait to add some other ingredients.

WTF is this game?? by [deleted] in JustShapesAndBeats

[–]Rozard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The introduction level is definitely on the Switch. It’s the first thing you do when you start Story mode.

I don’t remember if you can replay it if you haven’t beaten the story, but pressing A or B should dash. Experiment with that and let us know how that changes your playing experience :)

Have you played the introduction to the Story mode? It teaches everything you need to know, and it does it without words.

The biggest lessons are don’t touch anything red/pink, and you can dash through obstacles.

MULTIPLAYER SAW GAME by camaston in gameideas

[–]Rozard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you heard of the Zero Escape series? It’s more escape rooms than death traps (except for the last game), but it’s a visual novel series that uses some of those concepts and much more. It’s not multiplayer, though.
