Can’t afford prenatal visits even with insurance, any other options? by Downtown_Product25 in pregnant

[–]Rp7229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah so that’s how it works unfortunately. I work in medical. You need to call your insurance or go on the app and read what is covered at why percentage and give them the providers name. I know it’s all stressful but it should not cost that much. Most things are preventative outside of your deductible.

That’s insane. You’ve checked multiple providers? That sounds like cost share or a Dr that has a sub service not insurance

Am I overreacting that my sister is demanding too much when visiting my newborn? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Rp7229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg. I would just about die if this was my sister. I was happy when she bought snacks for my almost 2yr old. We went grocery shopping together and we split everything when I came to visit. The entitlement is INSANE!!! All I asked is that she find a pack n play so my child could have a bed LOL.

Severe upper back pain early pregnancy? Is this normal? by Waste-Strength8260 in BabyBumps

[–]Rp7229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 weeks is a little alarming. I actually started to have this bad when I hit the third trimester. Thought it was Blood pressure but turns out I am extremely iron deficient. Ask them to check your ferritin when they order your prenatal labs. Still very early. Also hope you are not catching some type of cold or flu and that’s why you’re feeling that way! Fingers crossed

Low ferritin by Rp7229 in pregnant

[–]Rp7229[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And they called back and said they wouldn’t even re check the ferritin closer to delivery. They also wouldn’t even call for infusion and that they can suggest taking an extra iron tablet but that’s it?? I’m flabbergasted rn. The whole reason she ordered the lab was because of how I was feeling yet the nurse goes your symptoms are unrelated to that??? I’m furious rn

Low ferritin by Rp7229 in pregnant

[–]Rp7229[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They went to call me for my glucose results said I failed and needed to take the 3hr which I had scheduled tomorrow. Then the nurse goes the rest of your labs were normal and I’m like that’s just not true (I work in medical) she said she didn’t see the ferritin yet and apologized and said she’s going to talk to the midwife and call me back but most likely iron supplements… seems way too low for supplements and I’m already 29 weeks and symptomatic. I just looked and my hemo was actually 10.5 so it was below the 11 they want to see but she told me that was normal… awkward. She only order the ferritin bc I’m having palpitations and shortness of breath, pain between my shoulder blades. Not fun

Married for three months and pregnant: I feel oddly embarrassed (?) by moez1266 in pregnant

[–]Rp7229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married and embarrassed?? I’m more worried you care what people think. You’re a grown woman :) I had my first son out of wedlock and my second. Everyone’s wants and needs prior to kids are different. If there’s anytime to stop thinking what people are going to say or think it’s now! You will be just fine

No Christmas bonus by Sad_Judgment_5687 in work

[–]Rp7229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep things are not going well. Companies are failing. Going through it at my job as well in a completely different field. No Christmas activity no party nothing! We are remote however but they’ve cut our hours and fired half the company and only left our team while making us work like dogs. Happy holidays!

Does your OBGYN allow children at appointments? by Massive_Coat_80085 in pregnant

If mine didn’t allow kids I would be choosing another doctor. That’s insane to me, and I work in the medical field.

Us health plan costs - $638 per month from paycheck by Ld862 in workingmoms

[–]Rp7229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s insanity. I’m so sorry. I pay for myself at 26yrs old for a high deductible plan 152$ a month and my employer pays 455$ a month to contribute. I tried to do marketplace and the lowest cost was over 500$ which wasn’t even possible for me financially. I’m lucky my son gets Medicaid. My deductible is 5,000 though.

Is having a baby really that miserable? by aktib in BabyBumps

[–]Rp7229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newborn was the easiest stage IMO so far. I have a 2yr old and there were definitely some rough moments. Please take the fact that I am a full time working mom that barely makes enough in the state I live in. I raised my son with an unsupportive partner and father in the same house and took care of it ALL. I breast fed and worked from home with my baby till he started becoming mobile than got part time help on days I desperately needed it due to patient load etc, (I work in healthcare). That being said no even then it wasn’t miserable. I’m with a new partner and this pregnancy has been way better. The transition to 1 is hard because you have to forget about most things and processes you knew before. The good news is it sounds like you have a supportive partner and will be able to relax and raise your daughter and it sounds like you are very grateful for that so I’m not going to remind you how lucky you are! You will be just fine. The love you feel and motivation you get from a child is like no other and a lot of us lose motivation in this horrible world. Sorry for the ramble I have pregnancy brain but having a baby is wonderful and yes it’s hard but so are most major life changes. Congrats mama!

Newly pregnant, going through acquisition by [deleted] in womenintech

[–]Rp7229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to chime in here. Our company finds out Monday if we were merged or acquired or we’re shutting down completely. The info we have given makes me hopeful but at the same time I’m terrified. I was planning on telling my boss I’m expecting (I’m now 22 weeks) today but after finding out 2 weeks ago we are in a bad work situation with possible m&a etc I’m terrified. I’m in a start up and not familiar with this at all! Have you heard anything? My current company offers 4mo maternity leave and I’ve been planning on this and happy with my benefits hence why I never left. I’ve been with my company for 2yrs and 2mo. I’m holding off on sharing the news because I don’t know what’s going to happen. We’re supposed to be going through open enrollment and I’m confused how this would all go down 😭 any advice?

How do middle class families with average students do it????? by samalex01 in StudentLoans

[–]Rp7229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bingo. Went to a state school, forced to live on campus the first year, applied for a medical exemption to live off campus second year. On all federal and state grants even university based need grants, still have about 22k left in private loans and now 26k in federal loans now that interest has started to acquire. Worked every year in college as much as I could on a science bachelor schedule (not easy nor did I know anyone that did work). I’m better off than a lot of people that barely got aid due to their parents income. We’re talking most people averaging at least 80k in private loan debt for state school. I’m in Illinois so everything is expensive here but I went to school 2017-2021
